They need to draw up a few plays to get Nuss in the game.

There is a reason TJ left…

It's not good to have a solid arm behind Max in case he gets hurt?

You can’t name another sec program that’s had better QB prospects than us

I realize this a a GREAT problem to have, but what happens when Howard gets here? Johnson and Nuss will have 3 years left to play when Walker gets here.

4th and Jones?
That was fourth and Chavis

Nussmeier is better than Myles. Indeed, I have more confidence in Nussmeier relative to Myles and especially because of how long Myles will be out.
I mean, even if Myles does come back, which I am doubting, is he going to beat out Nussmeier for the back up job? No way.
In fact, I'm kind of guessing Myles will never play for LSU ever again and will just transfer out early in 2022.

Walker Howard arrives in 2022 and redshirts. Meanwhile, Johnson, who will be a junior in 2022, heads off to the NFL at the end of the season.
Nussmeier takes over in 2023 as a redshirt sophomore. Plays in 2023 and 2024, then he heads off to the NFL after his 2024 junior season.
Next Howard takes over in 2025 as a redshirt junior and hopefully remains for the 2026 season before heading off to the NFL after his senior season.

Wow. You are dumber than I thought. Your posting is as if Tiger Ree and Pirate King had a baby, and spit you out.

Wanna bet it doesn't play out anything like that?

You can realistically keep all of them. You just have to keep the pipeline full and hope they all stay long enough for the coaches to see what they have.
The way things are nowadays, it would not at all surprise me if we lost either Johnson, Nuss, or (God forbid) Howard by the start of the 2023 season.
At that point Johnson would be a Jr., Nuss a RS So., and Howard a RS Fr. if things play out as currently expected (Nuss gets a RS this year, Howard gets a RS in 2022). Hell, it’s conceivable that Brennan could be a RS Sr. in 2023 if he gets a medical redshirt this year.
OTOH, you never know. I haven’t heard Max speak much but I remember listening to Nuss’ interviews coming out of high school and thinking “this kid is mature beyond his years.” Hopefully they all stick around and compete long enough to get degrees. Then if they decide to leave as grad transfers, at least you know you’ve had time to see what how they developed.

I would love it if it played out like that. The skeptic in me says that either Johnson or Nuss feel forced to transfer next year. Safest bet is that Nuss takes the job either late this season or in the spring and Johnson finishes elsewhere. Howard redshirts and is the starter as a redshirt soph (3rd season on campus). Just a guess though. Who knows how it will all play out. Having too much talent in the QB room is a new and awesome thing for us.
