Enlighten us on this “didnt have a choice” then, why don’t you?
He quit on his teammates, man. Just like Leonard did, McCafferey did, Terrace did, and a whole lot of other collegiate athletes.
I still respect Chase as a great Tiger, but questioning his team player attribute is very okay and on the table since he did what he did.

The first pass was low and behind him.
He was going to be lit up by Landon Collins on the second. Backup QB left him out to dry.
The CB made a good reach to knock it out on the third.
You so mad you’re dunking on him in preseason. How old are you?
PS—I always find hilarious when you people downvote verifiable facts.

Some will say, he just needs to knock the rust off, problem is, the damage to the steel never goes away.

The bengals should have drafted Sewell. It was the best option long term. Very short sighted decision

The only way to get better at football is to play football.

Chase reached his ceiling at LSU and couldn’t do any better. Will it prob take a few more weeks for him to settle in, yes. Moral of the story, if your coach mails it in, so can you.

There is some merit to this, b/c Orgeron did mail it in last year and players noted that.
And Orgeron is an adult already being paid millions to keep the team together.
Chase and others could see the writing on the wall...

You guys can downvote me all you want. I know he won the Biletnikoff and had 20 TDs due to him only catching deep balls, but in terms of a pure all-around receiver I always thought he was 3rd on the 2019 team.
Well this take is just flat wrong. Not only was he the best receiver, but He took a ton of attention away from the other guys in the slot for them to get open. Jefferson and Marshall do not get nearly as many one on ones against safeties without Chase.

Just from a draft standpoint, Chase had more to lose then to gain from playing the season. He torched countless NFL starters throughout the 2019 season and stood to potentially lose more from playing last year. But other side of the coin, Marshall had more to gain from playing most of last year because he would be the feature receiver. I can’t fault him for choosing to focus on himself, especially if he saw the writing on the wall during fall camp. Anyone who didn’t look at that team through a P&G lens could see there would be regression.

Marshall was your best receiver before the injury at Vanderbilt.

They should’ve drafted the lineman from Oregon.
Joe needs him more

And Chase destroyed A.J. Terrell for Clemson in the Championship game. The same A.J. Terrell who went 16th overall in 2020 Draft.

Chase torched a lot of NFL starters. Hence why his college ceiling had been reached.

This is such a line of BS with no basis in reality

Should I go on?
