Palantir buys $51 million of gold to protect against a 'black swan event'

For those who don’t know, Palantir is a software company that has the most powerful data deciphering and aggregator software in the world. The cream of the crop in data science.
They work heavily with the US government on intelligence projects.
I think they might have some insight on the future of this country.
Bloomberg
They also completely deleveraged and are now debt free. Another tell-tale sign of things to come like the bursting of massive bubbles.

The only thing holding this country together is the fact that normal folks have to much to lose. Take that away and the shite gets real serious real fast. In the end maybe this is what we need.

Word from Cotton is he is being told "bold strategy." I get the gold hedge but out $51M in cash?

If you have $51 million in cash right now, you are fricked. That cash is going to be worth on average 5-7% less every month you’re holding it. Inflation isn’t slowing down and with product shortages from covid bullshite and the government paying people not to work, it’s only going to accelerate over the next several months.
It was either gold or crypto. They chose gold.

50 million is like 1 or 2% of their cash pile.

A black swan event could include massive electrical grid failures. For extended periods.
They chose wisely.

On paper they are 47 billion, have a black swan event and that paper is just rough toilet paper. Gold on the other hand may carry the value but just like every other commodity it’s only worth what someone else thinks it’s worth . See how far gold gets you if money is no good , think mass war . Food and clean water is worth its weight in gold at that point

Guns and ammo better than gold

The "black swan" already appeared (covid-19
), do you guys think something similar is going to happen again soon?

Yes, my guess is our govt will knowingly allow a terrorist event to occur. Like Wuflu, this event will be pretext to taking away more of our rights. “It’s for your own good”. They could blame the “event” on white nationalist extremists and arrest all opposition.

So 9/11 again? Because that's exactly what happened last time and everyone cheered.
The Patriot Act is why we stand where we stand today. If you don't agree you are either ignorant or lying to yourself and everyone around you.

Yes, that's what I believe. After this Wuflu debacle, it makes the theory that the USgov allowed it to happen believable. They can keep these events going/string them out over time, and they can chip away at our rights bit by bit under the guises of "it's for our own good and safety". Then we will be powerless if we let it get that far.

If they were expecting a credit bubble burst, the thing to do would be to take on massive debt, as inflation would then make it easy to pay off.

My point is, $51 Million for Palantir is a pebble in the pond. It is not the stuff of a corporate prepper's mentality.
