I cut out carbs and sugar during covid and lost 50 lbs. I think I'll stick with that.

If I want a PBJ or bologna sandwich it will be sliced white bread.

White Bread is not good for you because it's so highly processed. I have gotten to where I read the labels on everything I buy and, if it's highly processed or contains a lot of added sugar, I don't buy it. I only eat either Ezekiel Bread of Dave's Killer Bread.

The problem with white versus wheat is in how your body processes it, same with white rice versus brown rice. You want your body to expend energy to break it down.

Honestly though, except for French bread on my occasional poboy, I seriously prefer whole wheat to white on sandwiches. I prefer it on burgers as well. Texture is better, taste is more interesting, and it does not fall apart when you bite into it.

Liquid calories are tricky. Yeah, the occasional Coke won't kill you. The problem is that you can sit there and suck 3 down during a meal, and not even realize you've just consumed 420 calories.

I don’t know about weight, but I just last night put together a low glycemic eating plan because of insomnia problems. I keep waking up at 3am unable to go back to sleep. From what I can tell, it’s a blood sugar issue or some kind of anxiety problem.

I need it to be a glycemic problem or else I’m out of ideas.

So they're saying sugar isn't bad now? Because white bread and soft drinks are loaded with sugar. Dumb article.

White bread in a commercial wrapper is terrible, not because of the carbs, but because of the preservatives and additives in the bread to make for a long shelf life. The white bread baked in the bakery of the stores is not full of additives and has a relatively short shelf life. It is very healthy. Soft drinks are not ever healthy, but I love me a Coke every now and again.

I'm fully convinced our obesity problem is not due to food itself but due to all the endocrine disrupting chemicals in our food and water supply.

Eating a lot of carbs is still terrible for you if you aren’t super active
