How different of a world do we live in if the Germans develop the atomic bomb 1st?

On the eve of the anniversary of the first atomic bomb being dropped on Japan, it occured to me that Germany had begun work on this technology before we did. How would things have turned out if all those scientists had been retained by Germany and they would have been successful in building the first atomic bomb?
I think we still defeat Japan for sure but the war drags on another year and the body count is exponentially higher for us. Because of having to fight on the ground and go city to city in the main island of Japan.
I don't think war in Europe ends with a decisive victory for Germany, but I think it's more of cease fire and then Germany retains Poland. And most of France. Moscow is leveled with an atomic bomb. Even with an atomic bomb I don't think Germany can win all out.
I'm not a huge WWII history guy, but have listened to DC's hardcore history.
Trying to breathe some non covid topics into the OT

What happens in WWII if Covid-19 breaks out?

If that would've happened, the whole world would be wearing masks by now.

Covid-45 was just round the corner. If it wasn’t for those meddling Amis and their dog

I think Germany drops the bomb on Moscow and on London and everyone in the European theater surrenders to them
The US would still be fighting against them for our own future and hopefully wouldnt be too far behind with their own bomb, which would be dropped on japan and lead to a cold war stand of with germany
But then again hitler was so crazy he may not have been a cold war type and could've said frick it and tried to drop a bomb on NYC anyway
Of course I could be off about all of this

They need a delivery system to hit the US and the luftwaffe is severely lacking a long ranger bomber the whole war

Depends on the timing. Early in the war I think they nuke Moscow to make a point and take anything they want until another power gets the bomb to stalemate the situation.
If they got the bomb later, and had the Red Army bearing down on Berlin, I think they start nuking everything they can in desperation and who knows how that ends.

Even with the bomb they can't deliver at a long distance and they won't have very many. They have to use them wisely.
England is the most likely place to see instant sunshine. Moscow is too far and the Eastern front is future Lebensraum.
Force England out and (depending on when this happens) they might be able to force a stalemate.
Eventually you have a Cold War with the Reich instead of a weakened USSR that isn't colonizing eastern Europe. The 1950s see a "Brown Scare" and the civil rights movement attempts to link Jim Crow to those godless Nazis.

A group of badass Norwegian commandos saved all of our asses from this scenario.
Operation Gunnerside I think it was called.

It’s a safe assumption that London and Moscow would be radically different.
If the Nazis create it in say 1943, Japan would be an afterthought for us. They would have nuked London and Moscow as soon as possible and could have taken out both Churchill and Stalin. That radically changes things. No D-Day if that happens. Pretty much we’d be relying on Zhukov from there. Hitler could have wiped out communism with one atomic bomb back in those days, so who knows what the frick would happen to Russia if they manage to kill off Stalin and his inner circle.

We'd have William J Blazkowicz to save us.

Well,we certainly wouldn’t be hitting the 8 billion population mark in 2024. And there would be a lot more blonds because of eugenics.

Hitler would have most certainly nuked Moscow first. If that happened, the red army would have surrendered and Britain would have agreed to peace. The war in the Pacific could have ended a dozen different ways. Regardless, the Third Reich could have easily lasted 1000 years as planned if the Nazis got their hands on an atomic bomb.

without Einstein, nobody was building an atomic bomb for another decade or more. I believe Einstein would have forced them to kill him and his entire family before he would have given them the science they needed. None of those other scientists came close to knowing what it took.

I bet that Heisenberg wouldn't have quoted the Bhagavad Gita like a hypocrite.
