I did intermittent fasting a couple years ago to lose about 10 pounds, but after I got used to the feeling of being hungry and not eating, it was easy to justify continuing to do it. A lot of health issues went away and my energy levels have been highest in years. I drink a ton of water now as well. It’s been 2 & 1/2 years and I don’t ever see myself not fasting. Considering starting to try and do a 24-hour fast once a month.

I was able to do this for a couple weeks a few years back. Was the best I've ever felt.

I was just thinking about my feeding window last night, and this is essentially me. I don't get that many calories unless I've been really working out/running etc. But I don't count.

I sort of do this at times but usually between a big meal on Sunday around 4 or 5 until Monday at lunchtime. Or a full 24 hr through Monday dinner.

It’s like a reset that makes my body feel better overall. I live to eat, including bad foods at times but fasting is easiest way to mitigate the damage. Finished HS at 170 and only 175 about 22 years later.

If you're starving and miserable after a 20 hour fast then you're not in good metabolic shape.

a) what do you mean by "having to"? and
b) that's complete nonsense.

The starving goes away pretty quick. Fasting is now a lifestyle for me. It's freeing to go about your day and not having to worry about breakfast and lunch. When I feel hunger I intrinsically reach for water and don't even think about food.

Fasting is one of the best things you can do

I do a 48 hour fast every week from Saturday to Monday.

It does go away. I rarely get hungry anymore, and if I do, it goes away pretty fast. 48 hour fasts are easy.

It's because when you fast you are limiting insulin spikes and insulin is what causes hunger, not an empty stomach.

Binging reminiscent of an eating disorder.

Fasting for laziness = understandable

Fasting long periods of time = kinda weird
