I’m no expert on that area, but I ate at Pour House Pizza last night and it was one of the best pies I’ve had in Louisiana.

There's a place right by the RR tracks called Paul's that I've eaten there before when across the lake riding my motorcycle.

They have a lunch counter and tables, so take your pick.

If coming from N.O. on the elevated 55, it drops down not far past Manchac and there's an exit to Pontchatoula that goes straight to a 2 lane road where the interstate veers left. That road runs right along the tracks for a few miles until you hit a red light in the town and Paul's is across that street to the right at the light.

Pauls Cafe is good people for sure. There is also a surprisingly good Asian Fusion place in Ponchatoula as well. I forgot about Le Saigon being excellent and I had some good fish tacos at Walk Ons.

When did that start? I hated it when it first opened, but it really became solid quickly after that. I haven't been in a while but never heard anyone say anything bad about it.

I’ve given it three tries since it opened
at all three, inedible food/surly service/uncomfortable vibe

too many other places to go for me to go back

Surly service is a nice way to put it. Unapologetic buffoonery is another. Mariners across the street just buries them.
