Could we tie welfare benefits like food stamps and stipends to truancy/school attendance?

Obviously high school kids can make their own decisions so it's hard to punish parents there, but elementary we could and possibly middle school. I bet the kids have their butts in the desks if momma's spigot gets shut off.

Or is this racist?

Nope. Not getting banned over this. Saving it for a good melt when Honor Choade locks down the state again.

Stop and Frisk. It worked for New York when Rudy Giuliani was Mayor.

Honestly? You want an honest, real answer?....Bring in a consultanting firm and evaluate the intelligence level of the chief/mayor and those who are close to them. Dumb leadership, equals dumb students. Same can be said for NOLA public schools. Raise the starting rate of pay, and see what intelligent level cadets you get. The Mayor is in charge of all this, so it's starts with her. I'm 50 years old, norn and raised in NOLA , and I can assure you, the NOPD was bad under both father and son Morial's as it is with Latoya, Nagin, and Landrieu. Barthelemy was slightly more intelligent, with a calmer demeanor. City desperately needs intelligent leadership. We all know it ain't gonna change because of skin color. Truth be told

Well that first step would require inventing a functional time machine.

I used to visit each year for a Saints game, but not anymore. I have no plans on returning to that shithole.
