Honesty: Are you ok with Griff stringing together a few singles and doubles this offseason

In other words, if he is unable to make that big move this offseason like a Kyle Lowry...

Are you ok with him just being able to make flexible, short term, solid moves for players that fit better and give us flexibility in the future?

Just small, positive moves after a total disaster of last offseason?

Yes because just a few small positive moves can get us into the playoffs… gain some experience and make the right move when it presents itself with our war chest

Yes, I said this in the other thread, i would much rather them angle for the deadline and next free agency

I'm not really sure what other choice he has. Would he like to land a Lillard or Beal or CP? Sure. But he can't make other teams play ball and he can't force a player to sign here (pointing out the obvious, I know).

The worst thing he can do is pay a B level FA like an A+ level guy. So if it's ends up with some solid signings to round out the roster and we're banking on growth from Zion and the other young guys as one of the big drivers to success I'm okay with that over the alternative.

yes.
we stunk last year finishing games and had zero impact from our 3 pt shooters ie.
Melli and Reddick.
We have gotten substantially better on D with our new draft picks and have way more 3 point shooters.
We now have a center that can stretch the floor and NAW and Kira are better than Lonzo and Bled. They will at least attack the rim !!
And Free Agency hasn't even started so Griff is not finished.
I like what I see so far!!

I'm being somewhat generous for purposes of this thread with what a triple or homerun is

I'm talking about the bigger names in this FA class which is already lacking.

Yes. Maintain flexibility and keep your appreciating assets (like Zo, assuming who we get in return isn't a obvious better fit or something)

Better than thinking Kyle Lowry is worth $90 million. That would be a bottom 5 contract in a year.

I ask the question because I see this place melting pretty hard if we are adding some short term B and C level players that just fit better instead of the Brogdon's and Lowry's etc that we have discussed.

I mean there’s not much more he can do that will be on the table

The question is can Willie green out-coach the single & doubles and accomplish what his predecessors couldn’t, with what should be a playoff roster

Absolutely if it frees up a ton of cap space for free agency 2022. Grab a vet pass first PG who is a solid 3 shooter (Gragic), being a vet sharpshooter that can play stretch 4 (McDermott) and use the MLE to bring Hart back. See if you can get Billy to come back as the 3rd C for a very cheap deal and Wenyen too to round out the end of the bench. That’s a team that should have no trouble making the playoffs in the 7-10 range which appeases Zion and then you go all out in the 2022 FA class to find that 3rd star to pair with BI and Zion and make them a serious contender.
PG: Dragic/Kira
SG: NAW/Naji/Didi
SF: BI/Hart/Murphy
PF: Zion/McDermott/Wenyen
C: JV/Hayes/Billy

Totally fine with it. Nothing wrong with getting the best guys you can now, DONT OVERCOMMIT, and stay flexibility to make a move at the deadline or next offseason.

I’m already bracing for the Griffin failed miserably again takes. He’s had the Pels in almost every single player conversation of the offseason and cleared the way to go in any possible direction.

There's not many big moves out there to be made. The thing is he needs to hit 1.000 on his singles/doubles and have one turn into a home run.

This could be the Green HC, Murphy pick, Dinwiddie deal, the pieces coming back in the Lonzo S&T.

Margin for error on every move is now miniscule.

It depends. This year and next year are our financial window to add a big time player.

If it's a player similar to Valucianas or Dragic where they can play a solid role and still keep that financial window open, I would be happy.

If we close that window for Kemba Walker or Spencer Dinwiddie and Buddy Hield, I'd be pretty disappointed. We'd be a better team, but putting insane pressure on Zion and Ingram to never stop improving.

It depends on the move. I didn't hate the Jrue/Adams/Bledsoe deal when it happened. The lack of shooting was a concern, but I was also assuming the Bledsoe would at least be as good as he was the previous year. Plus I also assumed JJ redick wouldn't forget how to shoot a basketball.

I like what we've done so far. If we can get Brogdon in a lonzo S&T and resign hart, I'd be satisfied. Throw in another 3 and D combo forward and I'm very happy

It really depends.

Do you consider adding a PG like Dinwiddie as a double? If so, then yes. But I want to add at least 1 (preferably 2) starting caliber player(s). And at least 1 bench shooter (I'm okay if this is a cheaper player).

This is all totally subjective on my part I get it.

I see Dinwiddie as more than a double, I'm talking a few really small moves, trading for short term contracts, etc etc.

It seemed pretty clear that he just didn’t want to play this year, along with Bledsoe as well….although Bledsoe never decided to just “not play”….
