I think---if it comes to pass that UT/A&M are not in the same pod---it is highly probable that the SEC has already begun sucking up to the UT money/influence.
How are they already kissing Texas’ arse if nothing has happened?

Would be a damn shame if they aren't in the same pod. Where is this being reported?
Campuses 2 hours apart, fanbases loathe each other, have played 118 times.
That rivalry is one of the reasons why you bring them in. Why duck that to placate a member of the conference who shouldn't even be here (a&m).

Everyone needs to keep in mind that the pod idea that keeps circling around was floated by the hosts of SEC network morning show and has no bearing on what the divisions will look like.

Aggies don't want them in their pod and maybe Sankey promised them that to ease tensions. But they definitely should be together and have the guaranteed yearly game
These "guaranteed yearly games need to go away". A Permanent cross over team is just a way to have unequal schedules.
Arkansas having a permanent game with Vanderbilt is not the same as Texas and A&M playing every year. Bama playing Tennessee is not the same as LSU and Florida playing every year.
This needs to go away.

Checked your upvote/downvote ratio, shithead? You want to find the slow thinker in this thread, look in the mirror.

Nice try, A&M fan OP.
You guys are pretty good at saving face tactics. I give you that.

But really, how can anyone argue with those stated facts!

I think it's pretty obvious that going to two geographical 8 team divisions where you only play one cross division opponent annually is not a valid option.

That would be too weak of a pod for LSU.

As both an Aggie (undergrad) and a Tiger (MBA), IF we have to play, I want to play Texas every year. Why? To beat the crap out of them, after everything they have done to every conference they have been in.
That said, anyone that is for Texas becoming a member is in for a rude awakening. Texas has always schemed and manipulated to get their way, and did so in any way they could. Ask anyone that was around for the old SWC, and just look at what they tried to do to the Big 12. Solo TV deals while part of a conference? Do we want that type of mentality in the SEC?
Yes, I'm biased. I hate t.u. But I have also seen what they've done. They are not a fit in the SEC, and hopefully we will ALL show them that by destroying them in every game where any of us play them.

Do you really think that Auburn, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, LSU and maybe little brother TX AM are going to kiss UTx butt for anything? The SEC has done just fine over the years without UTx.

If Sankey knew he wasn't going to A&M to agree invite Texas to join the SEC, what would be the point of getting them to agree on a scheduling issue? At the end of the day, A&M only has one vote on scheduling issues too.

You look for upvote/downvote ratios as an indication of intelligence of your posts?
That's possible, but quite often a downpour of downvotes on this site is a sign that someone has posted something true, profound and deeply disturbing to the rubes who inhabit this place.
Conspiracy theories, no matter how absurd, enjoy broad approval hereabouts.

I'm with you but it's happening so now we can just bitch about the logistics. SEC adding two of the most arrogant fanbases in the country is not a good thing. Texas will no doubt try to exert pressure on the SEC. While most think Texas is coming to the SEC with hat in hand, they will quickly view themselves as the best program in the country now that they have the SEC branding. Regardless, they need to play OU and Aggie every single year.

Have we officially gone to pods?
Has anyone said aTm and UT won’t be in the same pod?
This looks like pure conjecture on your part.
That said, my biggest concern with this whole thing is that Texas would come in expecting the rest of the SEC to bow down to them and cause trouble if it didn’t happen.
