The fact the OP doesn't give the actual hours per shift is odd.

As is the "I know unions!"

Never heard of a 12 hour law other than for railroaders. (And that is not time on duty.)

Son "drives rural roads". ie-Probably has a long commute he isn't telling us about.

In conclusion, lol frick off. Legal help? Really?

I skimmed to see if this question was answered and didn’t see anything, but might have missed it.

Does he only work Friday night- Monday morning? With Monday morning - Friday evening off?

God this post pisses me off.

No one is forcing your son to take the job. And if he loves it then you should mind you’re own business.

You want to start a legal battle with your sons employer because he only gets 5 hours of sleep on Saturday and Sunday?

Pussification of America right here.

“Oh my grown-arse son is tired when he works, I need to get a lawyer so my little baby isn’t as sleepy”

I’m a construction manager and I have several guys that work for me that log 60-80 hours every week. I had to pull guys off the roof today because is was 102 degrees and I was worried about heat strokes.

Then you have the balls, or lack there of, fo come on here and say you want to take legal action against your sons employer because this poor baby can only sleep 5 hours a a night.

fricking vagina. Grow a set, Nancy

He specifically calls out 8. I I garuantee the man is working night shifts 8pm-8am

He said starting Friday till Monday morning he gets 10 hours.

So on Saturday he sleeps 5 hours. Works til Sunday. Sleeps 5 hours and his shift ends Monday at 8am.

This dude and his son are pussies.

Do you really have facts, or maybe some BS your son is telling you? Do you have plans for your son to help you with on weekends, so he tells you he works that long of hours? Is he too wimpy to say no to having to work that many hours?
Something about your story is horse manure.

I thought this was going to be about a kid. He is a grown man, let him figure it out.

Clearly.

Works a three day week and he wants to hire a lawyer because he's tired.

Sounds like he's working a 40 hour week on the weekend. 3-13 hour nights basically. Sounds like he either lives too far away or he's working a lot more than the 13. If he's working more he can easily solve this by telling his employer he's doing his 40 and that's it.

To all the "quit your job if you don't like it" types, up yours. We got laws for a reason.

So he works 12hr days 5 days a week?

Yes that is a ton, but a lot of us here do that, those are normal hours.

I would kill for that schedule at times. There’s several months out of the year I work 14hr days and 7 days a week. I still manage to get plenty of sleep.

This dudes son needs to either prioritize his rest, toughen up or get a new job.
