Just curious. What AD hired Pat Henry and why did Skip let him leave?

If Saban isn’t number 1 then the list is faulty. Let me be clear I am not some fanboy of his but I am objective enough to recognize someone that is damn good at their craft. His influence past and present is very much part of our success today. Yeah yeah I know about the whole leaving for the NFL and he is now at what may be considered one of our largest rivals on and off the field but there is no doubt he rebuilt the foundation and brand of LSU from a past perspective. From a present perspective his unrelenting goal of consistency and excellence pushes LSU to be as good or better. Down vote away as you wish but Emmerts hire of Saban was the best in the past generation of LSU coaching hires.

Thank the number one answer is Saban and it isn’t even close. I don’t like seeing this because F that guy but none of what the university has right now is possible without him coming in and forcing the administration to spend money on things to become a powerhouse football program which in turn brings up every other sport on campus.

Ronnie Rantz just recently said that Henry went to Skip an told told him what all A&M was offering him. Skip knowing that track & field was a non money maker told Henry, that it was a great offer and that Pat should take it.

Best?
Best at bringing in the championships?
Best as in importance?
Define best.

I see Skip ad the best at bringing in championships and Saban as best in turning LSU back into a football power on a national level where the big money is.

3. Dave Aranda

Aranda has accomplished less as a head coach so far than Bo Pelini, and both have a NC as a DC. So I'll withhold judgment on Dave until he actually proves himself.

John Brady came into a shitty situation and did a helluva job. He just wasn't very likeable at the time.

he proved himself as a DC. I don’t care how he is as a head coach he’s a damn good dc. And was a good hire. I wouldn’t put him on the best hires if all time though

O came into a really mediocre team and took them to the top pretty quick. And he was making an average salary. Certainly one of the best value hires.

That is a huge blunder for Skip as AD. With Henry still running the track program, LSU has 10 to 12 more national titles in the sport. No way you let that walk to your rival. You open up the check book and keep that. Crazy

O haters had to backtrack after the magical season and use the narrative that he can't sustain long term success. Eventually the O haters may be right, because after all he's not Saban, Herman or Jimbo.
