On September 10, 2001, then U.S. Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld disclosed that his department was unable to account for roughly $2.3 trillion worth of transactions. The next day, the U.S. sustained the terrorist attacks that changed the world, and this startling revelation was forgotten.

How much money is laundered by politicians and military professionals ? What’s the next war to steal our money against? Citizens ?

Now that the horrible oppressors are gone the gays will finally be liberated! Taliban strongly supports Tik Tok dancing and Pride month.

Everything left there was left there on purpose, knowing full well who would get it.

Kandahar Airfield was left like this too.
Part of the problem is that our guys at this point are nearly as likely to be killed by the Afghan government forces as they are by the Taliban or IS. I remember reading that since 2012 or so close to 20% of the killed/wounded were green on blue attacks. This is one of the results of all those incidents, you can't coordinate anything because there's a complete lack of trust.
It was part of what made the whole war absurd after a while. Our guys were there ostensibly to train the Afghans and yet needed to have entire squads protecting the advisors from...the Afghans they were advising.

What a sad state our military is in. We are in for a major arse beating in the next major conflict.

Check out Bagram on Google Maps. I’m pretty sure the Russians put down the original runway but it looks like one hell of a taxpayer expenditure.
I hope Aziz’s Restaurant can hang on with the new management, place looks pretty dank.

This could have been a massive opportunity for revenge. Everything should have been wired and rigged, we could have turned Afghanistan into IED Heaven, but NOOOOO.

We haven't really been good at war since WWII if you consider how much money goes into the military.

The most powerful force the world has ever known... except for some impoverished goatherds.

Didn't we provide Afghanistan with weapons in the early 90s (or late 80s) they used to fight Russia and then turned around and used them on us?
Either way, think about it. Al Qaeda attacks us on US soil on 911 and as a result we invade Iraq and turn that place into a shite show. Then another terrorist group, ISIS forms, etc, etc, etc.. And then 20 years later we leave and this shite happens.
But hey.. What are the contractors who make bullets, uniforms, guns, etc, etc for the military going to do now?

So they want to take guns out of law abiding citizens' hands but they give fully automatic versions to our very own enemies. The US government is the biggest threat to our national security and they are the largest supporter of terrorism in the world.

This is what America has come to: a laughingstock to enemies and a tyrannical threat to its own citizens.

The Congressional hearings over this should be a fun shitshow to watch. Granted we may have to wait 18 months but Republicans in Congress will be fighting over who gets to drive the hot poker up Senile Joe's arse first. (My money is on Jordan & Cruz.)

And they want to take our guns away.

Only because we don't go in planning to win. Too much concern about collateral damage.
War is dirty, messy business that doesn't look good to the squeamish on the nightly news.

Everyone had to pretend the ANA was going to fight the Taliban. That was the lie that permitted the withdrawal.
