Not a name I knew before last week, but from everything I've read, it's a solid hire, that has the potentially to be a home run, given that he's going to have a consistent flow of talent to work with here. If he could recruit like he did at Washington, of all places, he'll do really well here, and Jay Johnson is already an elite recruiter, himself.
I like it. And this seems like a guy who likes this role, which was something I eluded to earlier today about how I thought Johnson might be looking for more stability than hiring a guy like Childress who will probably be a head coach again very soon.

Coach Johnson personally knows Kelly … Great hire.

Arizona’s head coach and ASU’s pitching coach. Both of them known for developing players.
That’s what we have been lacking for years. It’s an exiting time to be a LSU Baseball fan.
