How do new incoming coaches evaluate existing players? Of course they have their stats, but they haven’t seen them play. They not going to see them play if they’re away at summer ball. Just curious about how they actually do that.

One more question for mot or whoever.if it’s a players second time in the draft, and say he’s a sophomore ,like berry will be when he enters the draft.
If he doesn’t get drafted as high as he wants, could he turn down the selection and come back to LSU for his junior season and enter again for the 3rd time? What if that happens again, can he come back to school and enter the draft again for the fourth time?

There must be a rule against going into the draft 3 times, correct? I’d be shocked if the rules would allow a fourth time as well

The only spot tre could take in the outfield would be dugas’ spot and then they could move dugas to dh
Maybe they could move tre to center and put Bianco at dh

Hell, just keep him at first, those 2 scenarios above suck. Keep him where he’s been an absolute web gem waiting to happen.

Y’all sound like Paul, y’all be tinkerin too much

He is giving the outfield a try this summer as it is a consensus that despite how good he is defensively at 1st, he will likely be in the OF in the MLB. MLB usually puts a bulky power hitter at 1st. So if TM does well over the summer in the outfield and wants to make the switch from 1st to the OF I'm sure CJJ will allow it especially with Berry coming in.

TBoy - you realize Morgan was an OF before he was a 1B?

He's not giving diddly poo "a try".

Wherever he is the best fit.

They don’t technically “enter” the draft in baseball, they’re just eligible based on the rules or they aren’t. But yes, it would technically be possible for Berry to be drafted four times if he didn’t sign until his last possible time. Maybe even 5 if he redshirted.

It’s not unusual at all for players to be drafted 3 times. It doesn’t happen a lot because players lose leverage when they get to the end of their career but you’ll sometimes see players get drafted four times, especially if they go to juco.

Merrifield could easily play 3rd if they wanted to move Doughty to 2nd. I also think Simon has a chance to start at SS if he can get healthy. Merrifield is a .300 plus hitter in the SEC. He will be in the lineup somewhere.

Who’s spot do you want him to take? Bianco is solid in center and is fast enough because of how hard he plays.if he wasn’t the type to go all out, I’d say he wasn’t fast enough but that effort makes up for his speed to a certain degree, plus, he is pretty damn fast for his build

Bianco should be a utility player. I think that would be his ideal role.

Bianco is one of only like 3 guys capable of playing SS on the roster, so if Bianco puts things together and thompson struggles, I can see him getting a chance there.

Well, there it is. We may as well start discussing who plays first base next season.

I wouldn’t say zero. The more I think about it,the more I’m realizing that it’s gonna be a pain in the arse to get all these guys in the lineup and there’s nothing that’s off the table.

Say berry won’t dh then what do you do? What about Bianco? What about dugas?
