LSU vs Texas 2019 RFI

Trip itself was awesome, went to the Astros game Friday night. Drove into Austin Friday night, slept, went to game day, bought tix outside the stadium, drank with some friends and Texas fans we met, got out the game and drank around 6th st for a bit.

Stadium was kinda underwhelming tbh, they had the entire player entrance side of the endzone still under construction and had our band/fan section in bfe higher than we were. Plus the bathrooms had no AC/Ventilation. View was pretty decent all the way around from what we saw tho.
Fans were horrible, one Texas fan "from Covington" said we were being disrespectful in front of her mom because we kept yelling "saw em off" and doing horns down. Other Texas fans swore that we were yelling and talking sh8t pregame outside of our teams talent level, and anytime they gained a yard they would make sure we knew about it.

As far as game trips are concerned tho it's a must to go to. Austin is great to visit from what we saw, and there's a lot to do off the campus that my gf really enjoyed.

This my take as well, just from what I heard but I didn't want to say because I wasn't there. Seems like it would be good trip and you have jerks in every fanbase that can screw it up for everyone so don't let that be a reason to not go. If you can take SEC friendly ribbing, you can take that.

I have to disagree here. Not trying to turn this into a big thing but they showed up in huge numbers when we played them in 2019. That's not being a bust. YouTube the game in 2019 and tell me that there was no school spirit from the Texas fans.

Again, not trying to be disrespectful but you're wrong here. You're talking about the difference between the Big 12 and the SEC. That's not what the OP was asking.

I'm not Texas fan by any stretch but they have school spirit/ fan support. To say they don't isn't true.

There are jerks in any fanbase but there are also cool fans that can appreciate the competitiveness. I think that's all he was asking. Yea, I understand he's a Bama fan.

Honestly probably the best road game experience I’ve had. It’s a small sample size, but still—it was a blast. But the game, and winning the way we did, definitely have a lot to do with that.

It made for an easy drive back to Houston. One of those “too excited to sleep” wins.

Seats weren’t that bad. We sat in the upper right below the band. It was hot as frick that day and the tailgating wasn’t great but we had a good time.

Miserably hot. Their fans were irrelevant and even understanding the construction, was a dick move to stuff our fans where they did. We sat on the 50 and thoroughly enjoyed winning. The campus was boring. 6th street was fun but they have nothing on us. Austin was a dump. Vagrants everywhere. No desire to go back ever.

This definitely was a great one time trip experience for a game.

The stadium, meh. Aggies' place and fan experience far superior!

Had good seats in the lower bowl, and of course, hot as hell, after all, it is Tejas in SEPTEMBER!

This was my first time back to Austin since the late 80's and the homelessness was both shocking and depressing. I suppose with Liberals, it is expected.

The trip itself it worth it because Austin and surrounding areas are super fun. The actual stadium is so so. I’d say comparable to the swamp. Their fans get up for big time games. But be prepared for random petty stuff. Big12 fans have the most ridiculous inferiority complex when it comes to the SEC. They aren’t friendly hosts. Their fans are the biggest bitches in all of cfb. For example if you beat them, their fans immediately like to shite on your team saying how you cheat, fake injuries or whatever. They’ll never just say your program is better than theirs.

It’s nothing like an SEC atmosphere. Picture Vandy if Vandy had a much bigger stadium and bigger fan base. So not a lot of tailgating. Most of the pre gaming is done at bars downtown. Great trip. Fun city. Not a big college football town IMO.
