LSU vs Texas 2019 RFI

For those that went to Texas game in Austin in 2019, I have some questions for you. Lord willing, I plan on going to the Bama game there in 2022.
Questions:
1. How was the trip experience?
2. How was the stadium?
3. How were the fans?
4. I see the official visitors section is in the corner of the end zone upper deck....where they stuck the LSU band. I prefer to sit with the visitors. For those that sat up there, how was it?
Thanks
Kevin

Trip itself was awesome, went to the Astros game Friday night. Drove into Austin Friday night, slept, went to game day, bought tix outside the stadium, drank with some friends and Texas fans we met, got out the game and drank around 6th st for a bit.
Stadium was kinda underwhelming tbh, they had the entire player entrance side of the endzone still under construction and had our band/fan section in bfe higher than we were. Plus the bathrooms had no AC/Ventilation. View was pretty decent all the way around from what we saw tho.
Fans were horrible, one Texas fan "from Covington" said we were being disrespectful in front of her mom because we kept yelling "saw em off" and doing horns down. Other Texas fans swore that we were yelling and talking sh8t pregame outside of our teams talent level, and anytime they gained a yard they would make sure we knew about it.
As far as game trips are concerned tho it's a must to go to. Austin is great to visit from what we saw, and there's a lot to do off the campus that my gf really enjoyed.

Question the A/C in the visitor locker room
I'll let those that attended the game speak about the fans and so forth.

This my take as well, just from what I heard but I didn't want to say because I wasn't there. Seems like it would be good trip and you have jerks in every fanbase that can screw it up for everyone so don't let that be a reason to not go. If you can take SEC friendly ribbing, you can take that.

Texas is a bust. I lived there for 5 years and there’s no school spirit. On Saturdays like in baton rouge the city shuts down whereas in Austin you don’t even know there’s a game. Don’t get excited there’s nothing like the SEC!

I have to disagree here. Not trying to turn this into a big thing but they showed up in huge numbers when we played them in 2019. That's not being a bust. YouTube the game in 2019 and tell me that there was no school spirit from the Texas fans.
Again, not trying to be disrespectful but you're wrong here. You're talking about the difference between the Big 12 and the SEC. That's not what the OP was asking.
I'm not Texas fan by any stretch but they have school spirit/ fan support. To say they don't isn't true.

Austin gets up for a big game and their fans were jacked when we came to town. Lotta rude Horn fans everywhere inside and outside the stadium. Most Texas fball fans have an overinflated image of Texas' place in the college football world. Reality sucks for them.

That's what I was trying to explain to Stephen.
It's not like they don't show up. Which is what the OP was asking and how the fans acted when we played them.
There are jerks in any fanbase but there are also cool fans that can appreciate the competitiveness. I think that's all he was asking. Yea, I understand he's a Bama fan.
The guy is just asking for some info.

Its similar to what its like going to a saints game in that you tailgate at a hotel bar downtown and then migrate towards the stadium closer to game time. Due to UT being in a ubran city, not much room for the RV's or fan style tailgates... more or less a bunch of corporate tailgates in private parking lots around the stadium in which you need to know someone or be cool AF to get in. Lots of BBQ, peditaxi's, and not a lot of what makes new orleans great. Fun safe place to visit and nice stadium that served beer long before tiger stadium.

There was a ton of hype before the game with Herman vs O, College Game Day, SEC vs Big 12. That added to the UT fans showing up and out.

Honestly probably the best road game experience I’ve had. It’s a small sample size, but still—it was a blast. But the game, and winning the way we did, definitely have a lot to do with that.
It made for an easy drive back to Houston. One of those “too excited to sleep” wins.

1. Awesome. Hardest ticket I've ever tried to come by though. I usually scalp tickets right before the game. I saw a hundred different people with fingers in the air and only saw 2 different people selling a single ticket each for $700. We ended up I paying off the ticket scanner for $100 a head. No telling how much that guy made that day.
2. The stadium was cool. Not a must see, but still a decent venue.
3. The fans were fine. There was a little sour grapes when we won, but not as bad as if it were an SEC game.
4. I didn't sit up there

Seats weren’t that bad. We sat in the upper right below the band. It was hot as frick that day and the tailgating wasn’t great but we had a good time.

great trip. Great town to visit as well. Decent tailgate scene other than it being really, really hot. Sat next to some of the most miserable fans I have ever experienced ever for any sporting events. I would like to think they are not all like that but these people were rude and miserable human beings. But with that said I greatly enjoyed the trip and would certainly do it again. The stadium is ok, views from the seat while high are decent. I would at all costs avoid seats that faced towards the west if a day game.

Miserably hot. Their fans were irrelevant and even understanding the construction, was a dick move to stuff our fans where they did. We sat on the 50 and thoroughly enjoyed winning. The campus was boring. 6th street was fun but they have nothing on us. Austin was a dump. Vagrants everywhere. No desire to go back ever.

Just fyi, scalping is what sellers do, not buyers.

This definitely was a great one time trip experience for a game.
The stadium, meh. Aggies' place and fan experience far superior!
The fans were self-righteous, but aren't all fan bases?
Had good seats in the lower bowl, and of course, hot as hell, after all, it is Tejas in SEPTEMBER!
This was my first time back to Austin since the late 80's and the homelessness was both shocking and depressing. I suppose with Liberals, it is expected.
Disclaimer: We were guests of UT fans
Homelessness: San Fran? Los Angeles? Eugene? Seattle? Nope!

1. I went with a Texas grad who knew where to get tickets without spending a fortune. We sat high on the west side so we were in the shade before kickoff. Lots of LSU fans around us.
2. Stadium was OK. Not great, not horrible. Long climb up to the upper deck seats.
3. Since I was walking around with a guy wearing orange & a cowboy hat, my purple LSU shirt caused no issues. GameDay experience was pretty fun.
4. Wouldn’t sit in the visitor section. Gets tickets on the secondary market. You’ll pay more but worth it.

The trip itself it worth it because Austin and surrounding areas are super fun. The actual stadium is so so. I’d say comparable to the swamp. Their fans get up for big time games. But be prepared for random petty stuff. Big12 fans have the most ridiculous inferiority complex when it comes to the SEC. They aren’t friendly hosts. Their fans are the biggest bitches in all of cfb. For example if you beat them, their fans immediately like to shite on your team saying how you cheat, fake injuries or whatever. They’ll never just say your program is better than theirs.
It’s nothing like an SEC atmosphere. Picture Vandy if Vandy had a much bigger stadium and bigger fan base. So not a lot of tailgating. Most of the pre gaming is done at bars downtown. Great trip. Fun city. Not a big college football town IMO.
