Strangely I picked up chicks and even got married without doing any of that except having a couple of suits and wearing deodorant

I am 5’7. In my early 50’s. I thought my platonic women friends would possibly help me with their single friends but no luck.
Good job. No criminal record. College degree with retirement. Still can’t attract even the chubby ones. I come off as being too desperate for love but my time is running short on this earth. I like talking and learning from others.
All the good ladies are either too young or married. I know being desperate shows beta tendencies which is not what I want to show. Not being needy hasn’t helped either.
I don’t do bars and clubs and drugs are not my thing. Church functions seem plausible but nothing sounds desperate than trying to hook up at a singles bible study.

Learn to small talk to everyone. Start casual conversations with any woman you’re near in an elevator, checkout line etc. there’s no pressure when you’re not really interested and you’ll get more comfortable. After a while, striking up a conversation with the hot chick you’re interested in won’t seem so daunting. Since I’ve been married and don’t cheat on my wife, I’ve been in situations with friends or coworkers in bars and social settings and I went and met a group of women because my friends didn’t want to “Get shot down by them.” Since I’m basically just trying to do the introducing for them and I’m not hitting on them, they seem to be very disarmed and don’t feel “threatened“ by me. I usually introduce myself and tell them that I’m happily married and I’m not hitting on them, but my friends want to.
So the moral of my story is, it’s very easy to talk to women when you’re not hitting on them. If you don’t have to fear getting shot down, you’re usually very relaxed and won’t make an arse of yourself. Make them laugh, don’t come on strong or try to impress them, be relaxed, and show some confidence.
