Just listened to this guy for the first time this week. Damn his guitar tone is amazing, damn good guitar player also.
His rig rundown was very good, makes you appreciate someone who just wants guitar into an amp for his playing.

Been knowing about him for decades. Great musician, singer, showman and from La. to boot.
I've seen him many times over the years and he never disappoints.

Please don't tell me you don't know who Sonny Landreth is either?

Do yourself a favor and check out Tab Benoit, Sonny Landreth, and Randy Jackson...usually do a show together, one of Nola Jazz Fest weekends and New Year's Eve, at the Rock n Bowl.

I’m surprised how many good quality videos that have of his sets on YouTube. Cooking seafood gumbo and watching them.

And here's The Big Gun's first cousin ... my personal "Not Tab Benoit's" Thinline, also from January 1972. It's an honest relic, came to my shop with this wear in 2016, and it became a Tab tribute piece I did for its owner, a TB fan in New Jersey. The client sold it to me last fall and it's become a go-to for me. Tab's never played mine and I don't want him to because I'm going to break his heart when I tell him "not for sale." It has custom pickups I wound just for it, a jumbo refret with a flatter radius and a hand-rubbed Danish oil neck, and no one who plays it can put it down -- just a player's dream.

Tab is amazing and gigged all over Lafayette when I was in school in the 90s. Dude is an amazing player with a very unique perspective, you can always here that Louisiana swamp pop edge in his notes.

If you like tab, be sure to check out Sonny Landreth too.

That's straight-up gittar porn right there! Tab used to sit in with my band all the time in the mid-to-late '80's. He was just a kid.
