Culotta is reporting 1.5 mill, 4 year deal. Why in the hell are we paying this guy more than Mainieri?

I know this is hard for you to understand, but he was making a little more than 1 mil at arizona, so we had to pay him more to get him

That and the cost of contracts goes up every few years

Cuz that’s how you lure coaches away from other established programs. We didn’t pull him from little prairie college, we pulled him from a program with 4 national titles to their name.

Bitches about a new coaches salary

Would have bitched if we went cheap on the hire

His base was $850K, but he had incentives getting him over 1 mil i read somewhere. Not to mention, arizona reportedly tried to give him a raise to keep him, so yeah, we had to at a minimum go 1.5

Imagine that, a school wanting to keep their coach, arizona fans are sad he is leaving. And sun devil fans are happy he is going.

Why wouldn’t we? This is the ballpark of Corbin’s deal with Vandy and JJ had a good situation over at Arizona, he didn’t have to give that up to come to a blue blood like us. Learn how capitalism and leverage works, incel.

Found this in an article published by arizona last night

quote:

Arizona athletics
Johnson had two years left on his UA contract and will owe the school the sum of his 2022 and ’23 salaries — approximately $1.09 million. It’s likely that LSU will take care of that payment as part of Johnson’s deal with the school. Johnson will also forfeit the 20,000 shares of a longevity fund that he was due to receive in 2022 and 2023; those shares were worth $350,871 earlier this week.

Sounds like he was due to make over $1 mil each of the next two years plus some shares worth over $350K. So yeah, he was paid well. We had to pony up at least some.

Better question is why is Mainieri being paid his salary until 2024 (per Dandy Don) if he retired.

I feel like you're a reasonably intelligent guy. Do you just go out of your way to be the board contrarian? 99% of what is posted, you have to take the opposite viewpoint. Is it a shtick?
