Are Yoder pellet smokers worth the premium over a RecTeq?

Watch enough videos and you get paralysis.

The Yoder ability to seemingly grill better is a main plus to me, not sure that alone is worth the premium.
Anyone have experience with both?

I've got a Recteq and my neighbor has a Yoder. While it would be nice to have that open flame from time to time, I'd just buy a Recteq 700 and a Bullseye over the single Yoder. It's $500 cheaper and you get the benefit of being able to cook different things simultaneously.

I have a 590 and a bullseye and it’s a perfect combo for diff types of grilling/smoking or using both at the same time.

These things are very well built.

How do you like that 590?

I was all about campchef woodwind for a while but I’m now very tempted to buy the 590 next week as it seems it will outlast the campchef.

Never even thought of that. Thanks.
I’ve been doing most of my steaks reverse sear these days in oven/cast iron skillet. Looks like the bullseye might accomplish the same.

I had a masterbuilt pellet grill prior and the quality, performance and results are night and day. Had the 590 for a bit before getting the 380 (Bullseye)

These things will last forever.

OP- I considered the Yoder but went with the Recteq 700 because of money and the reviews didn’t seem like I was getting much more, if anything, on the Yoder. I love my 700

Toof - I have the 700 Recteq and am considering the bullseye. Does the Bullseye accomplish the sear/high temps quickly? That is my only complaint with the 700. It can sear and I have the sear kit but it takes longer than I’d like for burgers, steaks, etc. to achieve max temp

I own a Woodwind36 and a Bull. from a quality and performance perspective they are equal. The Woodwind has a quality of life difference in an area or two that I personally appreciate, but they are equals in their class.

A few minutes. The Bullseye gets hot in a hurry if you want it too.

I can usually go from 0-500+ in 15 minutes or so

What’s these pellet grills like when it comes to grease flare ups?

It’ll get some flare ups if you’re cooking something greasy at high heat.

Going on 3 years with my GMG and never had a single one. Clean out the barrel every now and then and put foil below whatever I'm smoking.

Good to know. I’m going on 20 minutes give or take trying to get my RT Bull 700 to sear temperatures. I think a bullseye is in my future.

Again, love my 700 and can’t recommend it enough but for super high temps/searing it takes a little longer than I would like

Takes me 30mins to get to 600 on the 590

Still impressive though. Most can’t even do that.

Agreed. It ended up taking about 30 minutes for me and the sear was perfect. Has me reconsidering the bullseye all over again as the 700 is pretty great haha

Like I said, having both is great. Last month I came home from work and did a smash burger on the 380, prep time, bun toast, cook some bacon and onions, burger one bun in 25mins

By definition, anything that uses pellets and electric heating elements is a rip off.
