I’m getting a biopsy on my prostate next week. My blood levels were elevated with my check up so I had my MRI a couple days ago I’m pretty nervous. I haven’t told anyone but my wife and she’s pushing me to tell my kids ( they are grown)... I’m more nervous about that

My prayers are with you, it's horrible but worth it in the end. Just make sure to follow everything the doc suggests down to the minute details.

Good work man. Sounds like you dug deep and did what you had to.

Definition of a man right there.

Man, this makes my day! Life is full of complications….you just have to keep stepping through it one day at a time and eventually you realize you have lived a pretty good life overall.

I suffered a health crisis as well a couple of years ago. I know you are anxious to get back to work and some sense of normalcy. Just be aware that what you have been through has changed you forever and it will not “feel” the same. Just don’t force it…just go with the flow!

Best of luck to you. Stay positive. Your hair will grow back and don’t be surprised if it’s curly.

I honest to God would never wish what I've been through in the last 6 months on anyone. It has been hell, physically and mentally. I've lost my hair, lost my 4 year long beard, eyebrows, nasal hair, body hair, teeth are effed up, my stomach still gets squirrely when I eat, my hearing is jacked up with constant ringing, etc. It has been a miserable, miserable, miserable 2021.

My mom of going through it all now. A little under a month into it. fricking sucks to watch and I can't imagine going through it. Congratulations on going into remission

One thing that I will share about my experience through all of this is the impact that phone calls, texts, cards, care packages, etc have on a person going through illness like this. I never truly realized what getting a card in the mail or a simple phone call would do to uplift my spirits when I was feeling like crap through this, but good grief did it ever lift me up. I got get well cards from friends in NY state, Washington State, a trucker friend from Canada, etc. Even a friend from Illinois that was in town visiting dropped off a care package at the cancer center for me while I was getting a chemo infusion.

If you know someone in your life that is suffering, send 'em a card. I used to never do it but trust me, after going through this I'll always try to at least do that for others.

Glad you’re on the road to recovery!

ultrasound found the cancer on my right nut at the top of the ball around where the connections to the body are located (i forgot all the technical names for it). Basically it avoided detection from me because who rubs in that area when checking the nuts?

This type of stuff is eye opening. Was the cancer on the actual nut or on the tube above it? Will be checking that area from now on.

I pray that one day, getting a cancer diagnosis will be like being told you have the flu.

"Take these pills and lie in bed for a week, you should be able to go back to work Monday."

I've lost too many family and friends to this terrible disease. Congratulations on bearing through it and I'm sure your family is grateful for your perseverance.

Were they able to tell how long you had had it for? You hear things like caught it early, etc. but what constitutes early? Thanks for answering these.
