There were some on the travel board talking about how safe downtown Atlanta is. Some said they go down there all.of the time and it is the same as it has been for years. In fact, they were recommending that a father bring his eight year old son for their first fathers son trip.
Statistically there is probably no meaningful change to the risk posed by going down to the tourist stuff in downtown vs. going in 2019 or something. I don't blame someone for deciding not to go, but I don't think that advice is reckless or anything.
To be completely honest the huge majority of the crime increase is being felt primarily by the folks who usually deal with it. People going to clubs at night, people driving on the interstates and getting in disputes at 4AM, etc. There is just more of that than normal.
Now the lady in Brookhaven, the guy jogging on Wesley - that stuff enhances the "felt crime" - something that happens periodically in Atlanta when crime bleeds over into the neighborhoods from the apartments and thug areas. And I get that. Objectively I don't think the fear is particularly warranted, but I get it. A normal person going to Lenox has no realistic chance of being murdered. But am I letting my wife go to Lenox? No.

Above is the link describing the details. Very scary for folks living around there. It appears as if these low IQ troglodytes have seized on this CRT bullshite and have become emboldened to commit horrible acts of violence. They some how believe they are excused from repercussions.

what kind of horrible person obama is to get prez office and steep up racial violence: there's been all kinds of racial intermarriage and blended families and obama wants to dwell on race riots from 100 years ago. For really lower IQ people these false media narratives are inflaming needless violence.

No, they say this driver was shot by another person in another car.
Sounds like New Orleans East residents have been conducting educational seminars in Atlanta. We have the best entrepreneurs

don't know anyone who goes Downtown for anything. Outside of business hours it is a wasteland. There isn't much there and other areas of the city have better options and amenities and are far safer.
I believe that Travel Board OP was referring to the Centennial Park/Aquarium area.(west midtownish) And that area is pretty safe due to a huge LE presence. You have GWCC Police,APD,GSP has a mini precinct and you also have CNN Security (They carry guns)

As should any sane person who ventures into downtown Atlanta at night.

Day ain't over.
Three shot this afternoon at a ghetto grocery store, one off-duty cop working private security at the store was among one shot.
It started over an argument whether someone should wear a mask.
One woman was shot in the head.
Full details from WSB local news...

The media doesn't know why a black guy was gunning down white joggers 2 weeks ago
The media also doesn't know why a black guy stabbed a pregnant white woman 2 weeks ago
But the media knows why a shooting over masks happened within like 45 minutes of the incident

Buckhead, Brookhaven, & midtown need to implode their marta stations. Would solve 99% of their crime problems.
The “inconvenience” of having to Uber to the airport or to the dome would be worth it to get rid of crime.

So glad I got out of Atlanta. My friends say the crime is getting unbelievable . A lot are seriously preparing to sell their homes and get out of Midtown if it looks like the Buckhead secession is going go through
