I don’t feel bad at all. He admitted to being lazy and used the Texas job to bilk more money from LSU. He had his moments but it was time. Crying before the game was over is a disgrace.

You projected your view of your job onto him. But something that requires the amount of time and personal investment that it does for 39 years isn’t something someone can just shrug off. He’s leaving his heart and identity on the field. Regardless of his success.

Skip cried his last game too. Felt a lot different than this. And it was after he talked to a Tulane team that had just whipped our arse. Never be another Bertman.

I’m glad somebody gets it.

Do anything you love for 40+ years. Anything. Cooking gumbo, carving wood, fishing, whatever defines the majority of your life. Then try not to be emotional when it ends, the instant you realize that this is the last time.
