Observation: Black people still wearing masks

Was at Wal-Mart with all the other smelly people recently. Noticed that just about every single black person from all age groups were still wearing their masks. Hispanics were not wearing masks, and about 95% of white people were not wearing them either.
Is there something I am missing why so many black people are still devoted to the masks?

They are the largest demographic who has not been vaccinated.

I am seeing less and less masks around here, but something must have happened because when I was in NYC last summer the ONLY people I saw not wearing masks were black people.

Same thing I noticed. They tend to rely on the government more than other races is the only reason I can think why they wear masks in great numbers.

Not that long ago the media and politicians were lying stating that COVID disproportionately affected ppl of color. And those ppl still believe the bs I’m sure.

Watched TV in Philly a month ago. The fear-porn PSAs on local network TV were directed at the black community.
Granted there is a large AA community in PHL but the said PSA's were relentless, intended to frighten the populous and across all generations.

What I find weird is black people don't trust the government on medical care but they trust the government when the government says wear masks.

The more terrified the government can make black folks of COVID, the more they can reinforce telling them what they can and can't do/think, and ultimately be their "savior" as they determine that they can be safe from the mostly harmless virus.

Told my wife this today when at Home Depot. If mask wearing was voluntary the whole time, like it is now, it woulda been easy to pick the Democrats out.

I talked to a black woman that runs a restaurant near my office about it. She said she’ll keep wearing the mask because she doesn’t trust the vaccine. Anecdotally, another black woman I work with knows people who passed from COVID so she’ll keep wearing a mask, even though she’s been vaccinated.
Seems like overkill, but I’m not going to judge if that’s what they want to do.
