The post caught the eye of the current Sergeant Major of the Army, Michael A. Grinston. “Looking more into this,” he wrote. “Thanks.”

If you are expecting Grinston to fight back against the woke nonsense you are sadly mistaken. He violated AR 600-20 in his comments towards Tucker Carlson and nothing happened.
Don't get me wrong, this Battalion Commander is a piece of shite, but if Grinston came after me for posts I made I would point out his own hypocrisy.
The SMA doesn't have the authority to relieve anyone from command. Neither does the CSA or CJCS.
The investigation would have to be initiated at the Corps or higher level because the IO would need to be a Colonel. You might ask why not the Division level. The only O6s in a Division are the Brigade Commanders and Chief of Staff. You might be able to get away with a post Battalion Command Lieutenant Colonel (G3) but not likely.
The investigator would likely be sent from Ft. Hood (III Corps) FORSCOM (Ft. Bragg) or CENTCOM (MacDill / III Corps is geographically aligned to CENTCOM)

You don't understand how these things work. I'll give an example, and I don't mind naming the individual because there isn't a fricking thing she can do about it.
In 2011 in the closing months of Operation New Dawn, the Battalion Commander of 50th Signal Battalion, LTC Kathy Fox, who was the first (and likely only) non-Airborne Battalion Commander of a traditionally airborne unit, attempted to make her HHC Executive Officer sign for theater equipment that there was no way he had the ability to verify in the time allotted and would no doubt have thrown him under the bus had he failed. That was the last straw for many of her leaders and was just the latest in a long line of toxic behaviors she exhibited. Every female leader in the Battalion, en masse, including her own Command Sergeant Major, filed a joint complaint with (then COL) Maria Barrett, the Brigade Commander for 160th Signal Brigade that the 50th was TACON under. Unbeknownst to Fox, COL Barrett requested and was granted an IO from ARCENT to investigate the situation.
Right before 50th redeployed to Bragg, Fox was notified in person by COL Barrett that she was being relieved for cause due to a substantiated toxic command climate.
This basically ended her career. Her training seat at the War College was cancelled and she was basically made a special projects officer in XVIII Airborne Corps for the remainder of her time in the Army (in this role, she managed to completely frick up the Corps Ball the following spring). On her way out, she attempted, and failed to ruin the careers of both her XO and her S3. Fortunately for both, they were able to overcome her pettiness.
She still retired as a Lieutenant Colonel and her DD214 says honorable.

Knowing my luck, had I been promoted with my peers I'd be that IO right now.

No doubt. His comment is worth what you paid for it. People who aren’t familiar need to understand how political things are at that level, especially under Obama and now Biden. There are three options, not just for Grinston but for anybody at that level.
1. They’re already woke.
2. They disagree but know to keep their mouth shut.
3. They have principles and will speak out against this sort of bullshite.
The 3s are rare given the political litmus tests and if one sneaks through they aren’t there long enough to learn their name.

Hopefully they go outside the Brigade for the 15-6. Lot of Soldiers are getting nailed for political posts (mostly right wing). It should swing both ways.
What will probably happen? No 15-6. Likely commander's inquiry and he gets a slap on the wrist and told to stop it.

I don't think he'll be relieved but he just took command and has already brought heat down on his higher HQ.
Regardless about how they feel about his opinions they don't like making national news and getting swarmed with media queries.
An updated and specific Army Social Media Policy is already in the works and incidents like this are driving a lot of behind the scenes discussions with these high profile twitter idiots to stay off the internet and focus on actually doing their jobs.

Day to day life isn't that different depending on the unit you are in. However as a white male you know you have to be real careful in anything you say / don't say or do / don't do. Lot of guys are punching out right at 20 although the OPTEMPO of the last 20 years is as big a factor as anything.

The only person in the brigade who outranks him is the Brigade Commander so it has to.
Probably a commanders inquiry from an O6 / O5 p on the division staff or from a tenant unit and then if it warrants a 15-6 that would come from III Corps.

There are only 2 of those, the CoS and the G3.
The G3 is the only non-CSL primary.
A Division Commander is NOT going to have his Chief of Staff or Chief Operating Officer tied up in an investigation. The investigation will come from III Corps.
