Yeah and we then had to overextend our ace on 2 days rest. Yes it worked out but we've yet to see what if any lingering effects there are.

And did you know he’s been battling an injury? Evidently you didn’t but you still seemed pissed off at the coaches. Maybe they actually know more than a message board

He built his resume for that by being the midweek starter against inferior opponents. He was not good in SEC play. Also not sure if you remember but LSU won 4 of those 5 games.

I don’t feel that coaches need to publish every injury. He wasn’t available for the SEC tournament

Hellmers average on the season was 2.3 innings and he hadn’t started in 21 days. I really like Hellmers, but I would imagine the coaches felt that Oregon would eventually get to him and so he was just used to get to the back end of the pen in Edwards, Marceaux, and Fontenot.

Thankfully it didn't come back to bite us, but if that game had gone, say, 12-14 innings, not running Hellmers another 2-3 would have been disastrous. Hellmers had multiple 7 inning games in HS.
