Love Trump, but I don't get the issue with bitcoin competing with the dollar? Particularly when our politicians are killing the dollar.

Bitcoin is more similar to Beanie Babies than actual currency.

It’s true that Bitcoin is competing with the dollar, but I fail to see how that is a bad thing.
The power of the United States IS the dollar. It is used as the reserve currency of the world. Business around the globe is conducted in dollars. It's funny that Trump has come out against BitCoin. The dollar as the world's reserve currency is the definition of globalism. It mandates a Federal Reserve and a military industrial complex to support it.
The primary reason I've never invested in crypto currencies until recently is that it directly threatens that powerbase. I can transact with anyone, anywhere, for anything using crypto currencies and avoid things that taxes and inflation.

We've crushed the poor and the middle class in this country using the Federal Reserve. Unfortunately, the electorate of this country is either too stupid or too apathetic to care about it.

Ah I see..You're one of those guys who considered himself a sophisticate in the realm of politics. A real "political scientist".
A nonvote for Trump WAS a vote for Biden in the election.
Anyway, in your opinion, what policies did the Trump administration implement that were far too negative for this nation? How did you suffer personally?
And also, compare it to the Biden Administration..how is is equal to or worse than the radical changes being implemented by this administration?
How are we better off now since you were too sophisticated to cast your vote for Trump?

if the dollar collapses
Insofar as it serves many/most holders as a dollar hedge (aka "digital gold") there is no reason to assume it would not significantly outperform a declining dollar.

The question is: What is a constitutional U.S. Dollar?
The answer is found here at the Foundation For Economic Education:
LINK /
In America’s free-market economy, prices are expressed in units of money. Under present law, “United States money is expressed in dollars . . .”1Moreover, all “United States coins and currency (including Federal Reserve Notes . . . ) are legal tender for all debts, public charges, taxes and dues.”2Thus, defining the noun “dollar” is necessary in order to know what is the “money” of the United States and what constitutes “legal tender.”
2. Do the present monetary statutes intelligibly define the “dollar”?
The present monetary statutes do not define the “dollar” intelligibly.
a. Federal Reserve Notes. Most people mistake the Federal Reserve Note (FRN) “dollar bill” for a “dollar.” But no statute defines or ever defined the “one dollar” FRN as the “dollar” or even a “dollar.” Moreover, the United States Code provides that FRNs “shall be redeemed in lawful money on demand at the Treasury Department of the United States . . . or at any Federal Reserve bank.”3Thus, if FRNs are not themselves “lawful money,” they cannot be “dollars,” the units in which all “United States money is expressed.”...

frick anyone that wants government to control crypto. And good fricking luck trying.
It’s become a huge echo chamber (has been for a few years honestly). It went from people in 2016 sick and tired of politicians and wanting to "drain the swamp" in DC to everyone sucked into a personality cult and abandoning whatever principles they may have had in order to align themselves fully with all things Trump.
As he would say,..Sad!

More relevant is legality of participation in exchanges. The US could at a whim designate such participation illegal, as with the Iranian rial. That is not to say it will. But it unquestionably could, and with basis.

so exchanges are just an easy on ramp, not the only way to buy.
but lets say the US and Nato countries ban the use of exchanges. What stops me from loading TAILS on my computer and using an exchange not located in those countries?

This is a brilliant move by him. Trump buys a bunch of Bitcoin, comes out against it. Since he’s the most hated person in America, people drive up the price of Bitcoin, Trump = profit. I respect the move.
