Old Man Rant 1

What you children don’t really understand is that we don’t try to get you to occasionally listen to us because we are wise but it’s the exact opposite. We were once just as reckless, arrogant, and ignorant as you are now. We just don’t want to see you make the same damn mistakes we made. We want to see you do better, make new mistakes be better, fix what we have screwed up ( which is almost everything) With that said,
1) Slow the frick down, life isn’t short for most people it’s actually too long. I have seen or come upon 3 terrible wrecks the last six months that all resulted in loss of life caused by someone that just couldn’t wait. Life was short for them, but it shouldn’t have been. Quit honking at people right when light changes, not everyone is looking at cell phone while driving. Give them a second or two to go.
Until very recently most of the friends I lost where due to stupid car wrecks. It will wait. I am not saying to drive the speed limit or some bs like that, but 85 is usually fast enough on interstate and doing 90-95 in driving rain in construction zones is asking for trouble. Some of the things I have seen recently were like out of a movie.
I am survived some bad wrecks purely by luck, don’t risk you life on good luck too.

The older you are, the faster you should drive. You have less time to get where you’re going.

You got some of that context baw?

I give them a second or two, by three I’d they aren’t moving in honking like a mofo.

Stfu and get out the fast lane old man.

I usually wait a second or two because of the idiots that run red lights. If I'm still there after 3 seconds, honk away I probably fell asleep at some of these forever to change lights.

My daughter wrecked her car 3 times in 2 weeks last month. I kept telling her she was terrible driver and her response is that she wasn’t in any wrecks like her brother. (Who learned and is a good driver now.) We are approaching 6 wrecks for her now.
I fixed last one with super glue, duck tape and bailing wire, since it will only be for a few months

After having my car fixed a few times in high school, I got in another wreck. My dad went outside and beat the hood flat with a rubber mallet and told me to drive it like that. My next accident totalled the car, broke my boyfriwnds arm, and put my face through the windshield. But my mom insisted ADD meds were the devil.

We drive faster to get to our destination quicker and use less gas.
Nobody can afford $3 gas

Speed isn't what kills. Speed the frick up so someone doesn't ram into your old arse blocking the roadway.

Father in law recently died (natural causes) at 90. Up until the end, he drove a fast car and drove it fast af.

The only reason to drive fast is for the thrill. Unless you are driving hundreds of miles, the time savings by driving faster is essentially nothing.
