It should've ended after season 3. It really dropped when they opened East Dillion High.

I don’t remember all the plot beats but it was cool to see Coach Taylor have to start from scratch and rebuild a program. It was a nice shake up.

Sounds like the true story of what happened to Plano High FB. I still haven't figured out how building all of the new high schools there hasn't killed Katy.

One of my favorite shows. Super cast of current and future stars.

By far the best/most realistic marriage portrayed on a tv series I've seen.

Coach T, Mrs. T, Saracen, Landry, Michael B Jordan, Riggins are amazing in it.

I LOVE explosions in the sky, they are a bucket list for me. Hopefully they are still playing, not sure.

I never watched it in its heyday and binged recently on Netflix. Not sure how I missed it. Great show!!! I did start losing interest when it switched to East Dillion. Need to go back and finish it.

Buddy Garity was by far my favorite character. Anyone who grew up or has lived in a small town knows a Buddy.

Streets was the only character I didn’t like. Dude got on my nerves in every scene he was in.

Mine too. It’s so relatable because we all know a Buddy like that in every town in the south with HS football

Two things:

Zoning frickery and they put millions into the program. It’s crazy.

Recently saw this. Liked it a good bit. Some random thoughts:

Julie Taylor had enormous ear lobes. I hated her scenes towards the ends.

I didn’t care for Streets going to Mexico and all that jazz. I did think they did a good job showing some hardships of paralysis. Lyla banging Riggins and dancing and all with him while streets watched was so weird. The religion phase was nuts too.

I really didn’t like Vince or his Dad. His dad went from reformed and reasonable to off the deep end in one or two episodes. Vince had the same weird sour look on his face constantly. His character shifted gears way too many times for me.

Landry and Tara’s side quest was completely unnecessary and nonsensical.

The Riggins household would have been so much fun to visit as a kid in high school.

I loved the coach and his wife. I respected the hell out of coach Taylor’s decision at the end.

Hated Buddy at first, but grew to really like him. Was very surprised by that.

The most repulsive character was JD’s Dad followed by JD. The gangster Vince owed money to was also a great piece of work.

It’s a shame the guy that owned rays bar b que didn’t come back. I liked the potential of that character.

The actor who actually threw the ball the best was JD. Vince had a noodle arm and Matt looked like a kid learning to throw a football at recess.

The writers who wrote the games really could have used a person to make the end of games more realistic. Running up the middle when needing a TD from 50 yards out just doesn’t happen. It took me out of the moment when things like that happened.

All in all, I like it a good bit. Glad I saw it.

Absolutely love the movie, but I've never gotten around to starting the series. I've heard good things about it though.

I just feel like there's no way the show can be as good as the movie. To me, FNL was the perfect example of what small town HS football is.

I'm sure the show has that feel as well, but I feel like it adds a bunch of TV show drama. I could be wrong though.

I agree. “Greater”, the movie about Brandon Burlsworth, is definitely up there too. However, even though it is about a football player, I would say it is less “about football” and more about his personal struggles.

The movie was terrible compared to the television show.
The actors and story and all.

Was he though? He was using self defense on a well known rapist who tried to kill someone multiple time
