Which event do you think is the most likely to end human earth?

1. Nuclear war
2. Asteroid impact
3. Super virus
4. AI
4. Large hadron collider accident
5. Aliens
6. Solar flare/climate change
7. Sun burns out

I’m betting nuclear war is 10x more likely than all others combined.

Nuclear war has never happened while asteroid impacts, novel viruses, and solar flares are relatively common

This seems incredibly optimistic from a time scale perspective.

wouldn't kill EVERYBODY

populations not in the blast zone would survive a generation to two, even with nuclear winter to the food stocks and the effects of cancer on subsequent life, we would adjust , albeit in a drastic way.

We survived the ice ages we'll do it again

Nature, it is good at wiping out really successful species every so many million years.

The sun will eventually burn out but I think an asteroid gets us way before that happens.

Why combine climate change and solar flare?

To me the last thing would be climate change and the first thing would be solar flares. Small ones happen almost constantly. All it’s gonna take is one real big one.

Not even an option. Could one happen? Sure. But not big enough to end life on Earth.

You think anyone is bombing Africa or South America in a nuclear war?
