Here’s Sam Amick reporting friction between Pelicans players and SVG.
LINK
This comes after comments during the end of season presser like BI when asked what his relationship with SVG was and he said after a pause “Ok”.
There’s rumblings now the team isn’t a fan of his.

In many ways we saw this coming in other ways it’s also a product of a disapponting season. Would love to know more details.

Also, if Crewz is to be believed, Zion’s camp, specifically his step-dad, is pissed. Supposed disagreement over philosophy, team building, training, etc. Not sure if his step dad speaks for him but it’s alarming. Not unrepairable though. This season is crucial.

My personal belief is that this offseason is the most important offseason in the history of this team (until the following offseason...).
It is amplified by what an abject disaster this past offseason was.
Griffin needs to at least hit a triple this offseason.

Not just you lol. I think everyone with half a brain feels the same way. This off-season could be a complete disaster or work out perfectly. Either one will have significant implications on whether or not Zion is here long term.

Apparently John Hollinger and Nate Duncan discuss "Zion rumors" that he is extremely upset with the team in their latest pod. I haven't listened yet. I'll give it a go in a moment. at the 1:07:00 mark apparently

Check out 1:07:00 into the Hollinger & Dunc pod. Hollinger responds on the Zion rumors. Heard anything there? How big a year do you think this is for Griff?

Its true. Zion and family havent loved the first two years

I haven’t seen Ingram’s presser yet, but Josh Hart’s also made it sound like he is going to be long gone and a big part of it is Gundy.
In terms of philosophy, I think a lot of players felt marginalized in their roles and minutes played this year.

Not surprising, yesterday I took the time to listen to all the exit interviews. Every player went out of their way to praise Gentry, and when it came to Stan, they pretty much didn't comment.

Brah, if we lose Zion I’m gonna burn shite.

So, it’s SVG fault that they can’t shoot or give effort on defense? Or the mental lapses at the end of games?!?! I’m not saying SVG is perfect or even good. I’m saying that the players are at fault just as much as he is. They need to take ownership and fix their stuff too.

Winning cures everything.
Just have to win, and win now.

Not surprised by this. The players arent stupid. I am sure they were wondering why the hell guys like Bledsoe were still playing despite being obviously terrible.
And for Zion, can you blame him? He's out of the playoffs once again while the other two stars from his draft class are in the playoffs.

Not surprising. Zion was the most pissed off I’ve ever seen him in that end of year presser. I even made the comment in another thread after viewing it, that this marks 2 of 2 years that he was unhappy with his overall experience with the Pelicans. And due to covid, he hasn’t been able to build as much of a relationship with the fans and city as he would have already. Zion is on pace to be out of here in 2 years if we don’t turn this around soon.

I think everyone including myself needs to relax a little. People should be pissed. We aren't winning. Griff fricked up the roster but it's not unfixable. Wait until all the trades/lottery ends and we'll then see what happens.
