Franklin Graham presses Christians: Get vaccine or 'it could be too late'

I’m very disappointed in this. We all die Franklin. For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

Evangelical pastor Franklin Graham is encouraging more Christians to get the COVID-19 vaccine, warning that if they wait too long to get the inoculation “it could be too late.” Graham, president of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and Samaritan's Purse, spoke with “Axios on HBO” about the need for vaccinations. I want people to know that God loves them,” Graham said in response to a question from interviewer Mike Allen. “He will forgive you and God will accept you into his presence.” “I want people to know that COVID-19 can kill you," he continued. “But we have a vaccine out there that could possibly save your life. And if you wait, it could be too late.” Graham said last month that both he and his wife had gotten vaccinated and wrote that he believed Jesus would have supported people getting shots, something that ruffled the feathers of some of his evangelical supporters, The Charlotte Observer reported.

With all due RESPECT, stick to the gospel, Franklin; you’re out of your lane here

Yeah, I’m perplexed with humans defining Gods will, esp so called Evangelicals

In my opinion, W’s faith based initiatives were designed to bring these people into the fold. As many as possible anyway.

Did Jesus have vaccinations?

I mean, his gig is to share with the public who would choose to listen to him. He shares interpretations and opinions and views on the Gospel, but he also provides commentary on social issues as well, which I would think this qualifies as such.
I have no problem with it. That's without even weighing in on the details of this social commentary.

This is going to upset the people that buy Billy Graham’s greatest hits on DVD at the Ingles near me.

I don't see anything wrong with it
Its not like he's forcing anyone to do anything. For some people, the vaccine is probably a good thing.

So he's encouraging people to do something that he, and many others, believe could save their lives and something that he, and his family have done. I'm not sure what the problem is. If he had encouraged people to stop smoking, would that be a problem?
Sounds to me like some are trying to create a problem where there really is none, maybe to try to divide Christians?

He leads a charity who has been very open in its response to a Covid 19. It doesn’t deny the existence of Covid and has supported all CDC guidelines, what do you expect him to say other than get vaccinated?

Franklin and his group must have received a stimulus check equal to that of the Kennedy Center for the Arts.

What bothers me is the,” before it’s too late” part. It’s as if he’s afraid to die or we should be. As a Christian, to live is Christ, to die is gain.

Then why are you disappointed in Graham’s statement?

Agree! I think Franklin Graham could have gotten away with his statement if he would have specified that the people who are at risk should get the vaccine. My guess is less than 10% of Americans would be considered truly high risk of death from COVID19.

Because as I stated above, he seems afraid to die. A sentiment no Christian who truly believes in heaven should feel.

Vaccine or death? The epitome of the false dilemma:

I don’t see it that way. It’s like telling people to wear a seat belt or helmet. Doing those things isn’t a sign you are afraid to die.
I’m not saying those who aren’t vaccinated don’t value your lives, distrust of govt and medical community is fully warranted in this situation. After all, it’s a novel virus and vaccine(s).
Graham is just another man, like you say his opinion no more important than the next. I’m sure his opinion and public statements are highly influenced by his position and other selfish influences.
