Moving there in a couple of months for work and need to start looking at places to live. Cost shouldn't really be a problem.

What area are you working in? How old are you? What is your budget besides "cost shouldn't be a problem?"

Will be working as a physician at OLOL. Late 20s. Don't have a family so I can afford pretty much anything in the city I'd imagine.

Any of the apartments on Essen lane should be fine and are right by the hospital.

Yeah I'd go with Perkins Rowe or the Bocage area. Rent there for a year or two before you buy. Both areas pretty close to OLOL. Bocage would be my preference, but Perkins/Bluebonnet area has some nicer newer ones too.
Don't be in a position to have to depend on I-10 being clear. Because it won't be.

To the OP, find the most expensive place and rent there. Ultimately you wanna pay to be away from the riff raff. Even the moderately priced places are full of trash because they pile in and are subsidized.
