Buffalo trace for sure. Still under heavy Covid protocol tho.

Woodford is $20 but you can pick up some good bourbon at the gift shop after....my favorite sipping bourbon is Woodford Double Oaked. The experience at Buffalo Trace is better and you get to taste 3-4 different ones at the end of the tour. They also make Blanton's and all the Pappy van Winkles, Weller, and more that are super hard to get. If you can do both do it, but I'd probably say Buffalo Trace cause the tour is free. Be sure to sign up before you come. Thursday or Friday will get busy.

Buffalo Trace has the best experience IMO. Not too far from there in Frankfort is a nice little Mexican restaurant called Mi Fiesta, highly recommend although I’m not sure how the experience will be if we still have COVID protocols at that time.

I am in Shepherdsville, KY 10 miles south of Lousiville. I have been to every FB game in Lexington that the Tigers have been in since 1998. I cannot wait for this. Louisville is a great place as well not a bad drive to Lexington. The scenery with all the Horse farms From 64 to Lex through Versailles is amazing.

Probably because the game is 5 months away....be on the top list for a long time.

Thanks for the Recs. Had Oscar diggs on my radar. One other called bad wolf or big bad wolf burger. Finding a badass burger place on my sec road trips has sort of become a tradition for me
So far the one in Knoxville .. stock and barrel is the best I've had.

Go to Carson's you wont regret it. Food is awesome. Its a tad higher in price than like a Sammy's Grille or Chimes but its amazing food and drinks.

So, I live in Lake Charles & we drove up to see the Ark Encounter and we ate at City BBQ & Catering tonight in Lexington, and I thought it was pretty good. What your opinion on that place?

This is not my thing, but some people like it

City BBQ
It’s good, but not the top notch bbq in Lexington. They’re a bit proud of their product by the way it’s priced. 1 of the 2 City BBQ locations is right by my office. Their sides are better than their meat.

Just booked my flight and hotel. LSU & Kentucky announced that they still have tickets available, so I'm guaranteed a ticket now. I'm ready for some bourbon, horseracing, and LSU Tigers kicking Wildcat arse! Thanks for all the info lsudat10

Thanks for all this valuable info!
We are flying up Wednesday, have a Mint Julep tours 23-seater for Thursday, box seats at Keeneland Friday, and plan to enjoy the Lexington scene Saturday.
Appreciate the detailed research for the moves we haven’t made yet

I will be attending the game. Keeneland Friday GameDay Saturday, and Cincinnati vs GB Sunday. There will be PLENTY LSU fans in Lexington and going to see Burrow.

Thanks so much for all this info, amd that goes for you as well as all the other locals who have chimed in so far. A lot to digest but def looking forward to this trip. I have a question, for actual tailgating you mentioned doing it at the hill at Keeneland I believe. Is there other tailgating on or near campus and is that worth checking out at all or will the scene at Keeneland be a lot better?

Keeneland tickets are on sale as of 7 minutes ago. High volume so try to get them now.

Made an LSU-UK game in Lexington 25 years ago with a huge group of friends. We hit Keeneland for the afternoon and had a blast. Was going to attend this year as well but turns out that weekend is also parents weekend at my daughter's college in MI. Disappointed but made the right decision.
