South Carolina lawmakers have passed a bill to allow inmates on death row to be executed by firing squad in the absence of lethal injection drugs.
The Republican-controlled House voted 66-43 on Wednesday to make the electric chair the default method of execution when drugs are unavailable and to offer up the alternative of dying by firing squad.
Death by firing squad is currently allowed in Mississippi, Oklahoma, and Utah, according to the Death Penalty Information Center.

Think I’d rather go by firing squad than the electric chair.

Public hangings is the only way to properly execute someone. It is a shame we let that die off

How can there be a shortage of lethal injection drugs when so many are dying from fentanyl?

Wonder what LSU’s new president would think of this

They won't do this unless they can find bullets that cost $1,000 each. They have to screw the taxpayers somehow and prison/executions are big business.

I can think of a few cases where i would really like to be part of the squad.

I like the idea of a firing squad if I were ever to be executed, but does it have to be by center off mass? Can't it be head shots? I can imagine if it's center off mas there is a second of burning

A dynamic punishment program is best. All end in death but the path there is what differs.
Example:
Someone rapes and tortures a child, (whether it results in the child’s death or not) would utilize the most painful form of execution.
And so on….,
