Youtube
Wasn’t sure what to call this but it’s a sweet video and
Spoilers
it’s cool that it seems like the whale shark waves goodbye at the end.
Also, how does the whale shark know they’re going to help him. Like it’s a shark. All it sees is a stick being thrust near its side

Cool!
But, I see that vertical video is a universal thing.

It was obviously trying to draw them into the water for his great white buddies hiding just out of sight.

Turns out aliens have been here for centuries, dude. They just live in the ocean, we had no idea. That's the news. You think an octopus is just a smart sea critter? How about intergalactic traveler, crash landed on this rock 6 million years ago...

I would buy those guys a couple of beers.

To be fair, it’s what people are naturally inclined to do. It’s easier to hold the phone and you usually hold the phone vertical in every day life. It’s not ideal but I understand why it happens

Why can't a phone record in either view, regardless of orientation? I mean, it would be a useful setting to have? I hate holding my phone sideways, but I also hate portrait video.

Have you seen My Octopus Teacher?

Very cool video. Amazing the shark seemed to thank the people for cutting it loose

I think they could do that with a button in the UI but it’s probably an intuitive design choice of some sort

Thank goodness this wasn’t in Japan. We’d be getting a Live Leak video instead and it wouldn’t have a happy ending

It seems like this would depend on the camera. I’m surprised they haven’t made a camera for these phones that can do both both portrait or landscape no matter how the phone is held.
Cool video though.

That’s super cool. I was lucky enough to swim with some on a dive in Mexico. Have some cool pics and vids from that. That one looks like a juvenile. They’re massive creatures. It’s also impressive how fast they are. I caught up to one and was giving it everything I had to keep up. One kick of the tail and it was gone.

I'm pleasantly surprised the OT put me in a good mood first click instead of wanting to go to war or go vigilante on somebody. Upvote

The image sensor in the camera has a rectangular shape.

Humans don’t deserve whale sharks.

I like how "bye bye" and "you're welcome" are known universally in English across the globe.
Also "I love you". That's all the drunk Japanese lady could say. But that's a different story.

I think “bye bye” is an Indian thing. I work with this dude who came to the US at 10. He’s very “bro” and has no accident. But every time I stop talking with him, he says “bye bye.”
