Ridiculous. But a CEO of ANY company has to be wary of being baited into an exchange that will end up on the Internet. It's one thing to be a lowly drone in a company, but if you are high profile, or high in the administration, if that exchange would reflect badly on the company you will be out of a job in a hurry.

I would hope that most executives are able to assess situations and craft responses better than this guy did.

That dude was drunk and being a dick to some gay kids. He was being a douche. Should he be fired over that? Meh. 10 years ago no one ever knows this occurred except for the few people there and the participants. Most never know who the frick that dude was....but now we live in the panopticon...being a douche is becoming riskier. It’s really astonishing where we are as a society.
Since the beginning of time people have made fun of others for various reasons. It’s classless and rude.
But, are we now going to start demanding people are fired and cancelled if we don’t like what they say? If so, who arbitrates what is allowed and what has crossed the line?
