When will we see another year of movies as stacked as 2007?

Perfume: Story of a Murderer
Smokin' Aces
Reno 911!: Miami
Zodiac
300
Meet the Robinsons
Hot Fuzz
Waitress
Knocked Up
La vie en rose
Eagle vs Shark
Ratatouille
Sunshine
The Simpsons Movie
Rush Hour 3
Stardust
Superbad
3:10 to Yuma
Across the Universe
Eastern Promises
The Asassaination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford
The Darjeeling Limited
Michael Clayton
Lars and the Real Girl
Gone Baby Gone
No Country for Old Men
Enchanted
I'm Not There
The Mist
Juno
Atonement
Revolver
Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Stret
Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story
There Will Be Blood
Literally EVERY SINGLE GENRE stacked. You could go to the theater every week and catch an amazing movie in whatever genre you wanted, a dozen movies up there would vie for Best movie of its genre post-2000.
I remember living at the theater as an 18-19 year old. Haven't felt the same since.
Even the mediocre movies (and I listed quite a few) were different and interesting.

2007 wasn’t a stacked year.

I’ll argue for 2012
Argo
Life of Pi
Les Mis
Lincoln
Skyfall
Django Unchained
Wreck it Ralph
The Master
Zero Dark Thirty
Avengers
Hunger Games
Dark Knight Rises
Brave
Ted
End of Watch
Premium Rush
The Grey
Pitch Perfect
Flight
Cabin in the Woods
Safe House
Amour
Silver Linings Playbook
Dredd
John Carter
21 Jump Street
Fury
Moonrise Kingdom
Prometheus
Safety not Guaranteed
Thing that stood about this year was all the best picture nominees were movies the general public had seen and actually enjoyable.

I enjoyed exactly 7 of the movies you listed. You couldn't pay me to watch something like Argo, Life of Pi, Lincoln, etc.

2007 had some truly phenomenal films and 2012 was fantastic in its own right. I've come to stan for 2006. The first half of that year only had like 2 good films:
V for Vendetta
United 93
The back half on the other hand:
Little Miss Sunshine
Miami Vice
Talladega Nights
The Illusionist
Invincible
Crank
The Departed
Flags of our Fathers
Marie Antoinette
The Prestige
Babel
Borat
Stranger than Fiction
Casino Royale
Deja Vu
The Fountain
Apocalypto
Blood Diamond
The Holiday
Dreamgirls
The Pursuit of Happyness
Letters from Iwo Jima
Rocky Balboa
Night at the Museum
Children of Men
Pan's Labyrinth
The Last King of Scotland
Volver

There are only a few, maybe 5 or 6, good movies on your entire list.
No country for old men obviously was amazing.

When Michael Clayton is the #3 movie that year, you know it was an incredible year for movies .

Not sure you understand what Argo is.

Nice to see this on a positive list. Probably the best non-Disney Disney feature. Check it out on Disney+.

Yeah, I think both 2006 and 2008 were way better than 2007. 2 out of my top 10 films weren’t only released in 2006 but in the same week.

Film wise, 2007 is about as "stacked" as Aubrey Plaza.

i'll never watch most of those again (maybe life of Pi or Les Mis,) but they were movies that were actually interesting and had been seen by the public unlike most years where they all had limited releases.
but... there's a ton of rewatchability in that list..
avengers
21 jump street
skyfall
ted
john carter
pitch perfect
dredd
fury
wreck it ralph
hunger games
brave
django

I guess I know why comic book and shitty Star Wars offshoots are driving the entire entertainment industry now

A lot of those movies were not good
