First of all, I saw his mother in the video damning the shooting etc. I’d like to feel her pain but I ask you, WTF is a 13 year old doing outside with a gun at 2:30 a.m. to begin with?

What kind of mother lets her son stay out all night at 13 years old???

There is far more to this story than we’ll ever get of course because the media will never use common sense and ask that question. Right now she is likely thinking of the big money settlement and before anyone says I am insensitive, ask yourself that question, how much does a parent love their child to let a fking 13 year old stay out all night ? And with a gun no less.

A 13 year old who has a gun and is out that late tells me his mom allowed bad behavior. She knew better and that is as much on her as anyone.

The perps are more of an issue than the cops but nobody has the guts to call them out. The parents are at fault as well.. If they can be called parents at all.

Where is all this police and mass shooting shite coming from. This is weird.

She looks like a gang affiliated thot who, from what I’ve gathered, is a “stay at home” mom who doesn’t work but also happens to be single. Let’s put 2 and 2 together there. If your kid is hanging out with a 21 year old who murders people when he’s in 8th grade, you’re a total piece of shite absentee parent

It's yet another awful story, but I've become callous to this stuff at this point. Not enough people care about the other minority children NOT killed by police in this godforsaken city. They're just tragic statistics.

That boy was failed by his family/community/the accomplice he was with. Until people are brave enough to acknowledge that personal accountability matters, and stop trying to point fingers at the boogey man cops and white people, nothing will ever change.

I want to add to my post another thing that gets left out on all of these incidents.

First of all, too many people, especially the media, leave out several key factors.

1) Police are being shot and killed daily now it seems and are put in a bad situation. Some are being ambushed and they may be reacting for fear of their lives more now than ever.

2) Lets use the Wright guy shot as another example. He had a criminal record including robbery and assault on a girl trying to choke her. Furthermore, he had other run ins with police, already fleeing from them before and had warrants out for his arrest.

The BIGGEST fact lost in all of this is simple. OBEY the police and STOP putting them in these situations to begin with. Wtf happened to accountability and parents telling their kids to not create these situations?

Comply when you fire a gun or have warrants and you don’t have to put yourself or a cop in these situations. Fighting the police etc is now excused.

Purely hypothetical but the gun was given to him by the 21yr old accomplice who already had felony charges against him. He obviously shouldn’t have been out and about at that time but he was (due to his upbringing). Initially one would say he was unarmed upon lifting his hands but upon frame by frame he still had the pistol when lifting his hands in my opinion. I understand the cop using the flashlight strobe mode because it’s meant to disorientate the perpetrator but in the video it made it very difficult to see what’s what. The kid shouldn’t have been out but even if the case of adult it’s a hard case to call I would think. Police are expected to make judgement at a split second yet crucified when they make a “wrong” judgment

There are too many armchair QBs today who overanalyze what cops "should've" done, with the benefit of hindsight and instant replay.

I can't even imagine what goes through those guys' minds when they could be dead within a second if they don't react first. I'd like to see the reactions of all the critics if they were dropped into the same situation. A lot of them would probably get killed.

Can’t say oh he’s a baby bc he’s just 13. His gang name was lil homicide that’s all you need to know about him. The cop is a hero

To be fair. I snuck out of the house at 13 and did stupid shite. Mother may not have known he was out.

She should be arrested and charged with child neglect. I'd go as far as to say there is an argument to be made that she should be charged with negligent homicide.

They are not really parents - they are breeders

I would bet that child never had a moment of parentage in his life - other than keeping him alive to qualify for the welfare $$. Just like raising chickens.

I honestly don't know what the law is now, but when I was in high school 25 years ago, there was a curfew for teens. and if you (as a teen) were breaking curfew, the parents could be charged with whatever crime the kid committed. and the parents would be charged for allowing their kid out on the streets.

Actually it will continue to get worse - we are experiencing that right now - there are millions of these kids running loose right now who have never experienced a moment of mature, responsible parentage

Just like the DEMs want - more and more assured decadence and violence that can be blamed on 'white supremacist racism'

With a name like that, I wonder why he didn't just kill the cop.

You would have thrown a party. Sorry.

One of your people will kill another cop soon enough and you can have your party

here we go, blaming the victim...

j/k

Yeah, at 13 - 15, I and others my age were doing not so kosher things. Like sneaking out and getting into really pointless suburban life antics, but nothing which involved having to carry a gun. Or drugs. Or theft or robbery ... So being out isn't so unheard of, damn...

If someone saw you out late they’d call your parents for your own good where I grew up.

Hated it but it probably saved a few of us.
