I have a mid-20's friend trying to date using all these new apps. They have said their Metry location is a deal breaker sometimes.
Think the circle they are dating in is somewhat the cause, but I still think it is funny.

CBD or Warehouse district. Preferably within walking distance to the Rouses on Baronne.
I used to live in that area. Tons of entertainment, easy highway access via calliope, walkability like no other. Safe as far as nola standards are concerned.

I'd say JP is comparatively better with infrastructure type situations, but still not good.

They are actually doing a ton of street work uptown right now. I'm sure the streets will suck in due time.

One of the few things that seem to be happening under Toya is roadwork.

I've been near the Magazine/Napoleon intersection for nine years. Great neighborhood, very walkable. I'm a dude but the only crime I've dealt with was one car break in last year where they busted out two windows so not terrible for a nine year stretch.
Despite all of the negativity in this thread, the Audubon Park/St. Charles/Magazine/Napoleon rectangle is one of the best and safest parts of the city. I'm on the river side of Magazine and it has gentrified considerably over the past decade to the point that it is no longer hood adjacent because the hood near the river doesn't really exist anymore.
Oh, and Lakeview sucks. Live in OM if you want that lifestyle.

Well, Jefferson Parish does flood - Lake Ave, over behind the Barnes & Noble, Elmwood - and that’s not even considering the West Bank or Grande Isle or Kenner
Lynette Dr and some of those roads off W Metairie are atrocious
