Hope so. I hope they still have fire if things don't work out against Arkansas and Ole Miss

I don't know what to think of this team on the road yet. This weekend should be pretty telling. Kentucky is beatable 2 of 3, sweepable perhaps (from what I heard on a podcast this morning...I haven't watched much of them). But, I could see us losing 2 or 3, too. Auburn and A&M are road series. We should sweep Bama at our place if we're just a little bit better than we've been.

But the last four series that season were very very easy outside of a trip to Alabama they screwed up.
and we also got left out of the NCAAT for that reason (and missing the SECT) and not having any good series wins since Fullerton in February. Swept by Florida, Vanderbilt, and Arkansas and lost series to Ole Miss, Auburn, Georgia, and even a mediocre at best Alabama team. I said absolute worst 13 wins. 13 wins would still have us sweating and praying.

If we are 2 of 14 teams that miss the sect, we better not get a bid.

I’m pretty sure ESPN is already projecting the Natty game for football next year.
Yea, but they just play the odds and throw Bama v Clemson out at this point since they represent 9 of the 12 spots over the past 6 years.

Yeah I'm the last person who needs an LSU baseball history lesson.

I honestly think a big reason they added more teams when it went to 10 (and now 12) was because of us getting left out in 2011. They didn't want the committee using that against someone again. I don't think it's even possible to be considered at this point. Only once has a team that missed the SECT won more than 10 SEC games, so I don't think you have to worry about LSU being considered for a bid with a 10-20 SEC record or worse.

14 is the number for me. I think 14 does it with a few wins in the SECT, and we'd be hot as all hell if we get to 14.
Let's get to 2 first.
Let's get to 2 first.

Wouldn't be the worst spot at all for LSU
Then call me crazy but Tennessee would be a winnable super regional.
LSU got swept but two of the games were really close.
Perfect storm for CPM to get an extension Imagine making it to Omaha after finishing 11-19 in conference and being ready to fire Pawl. This site would implode.

They must not have seen Maineiri coach this team.
I truly do not understand how any of the players can stand playing for that effeminate, whining, dweeb.

In 2011 LSU had just beaten State in the last series of the year. They had a better RPI than state. And state went 0-2 in the sect. But State got in. Why? Their AD was head of the committee.

SECT, if they even qualify
This is key, because if there's no SEC tourney play, then no NCAAT.

LSU got screwed in 2006 and 2011 by Mississippi State.

correct, in 2006 when their AD was on the committee when we did make the SECT and were left out of the NCAAT. That was just the excuse given to LSU in 2011 when they missed the SECT and didn't get a bid

Everyone in the SEC West in 2011 was between 15-15 and 13-17. Arkansas had the lone 15-15 record, everyone else was 14-16 or 13-17. The fact that LSU didn't make the SECT shouldn't have been used as a barometer. They're still one of the highest RPIs ever not to get an at-large bid. I believe their RPI was around 21 at the end of the regular season.
