Clearly Chauvin should have let the perp go because he was in a self-induced medical crisis and Chauvin should have magically determined that Floyd ingested a lethal amount of drugs, despite his saying that "I ain't high on nothing".
Shouldn't have let him go, but once his hands were cuffed behind his back Chauvin should have monitored his condition and been prepared to shift him to another position.
Prosecution introduced two videos of Chauvin doing exactly that for two other detainees in the past.

The paramedic on the scene testified. She was yelling at Chauvin to stop and let her check Floyd out, and Chauvin told her to be quiet. She tried to tell him how to turn Floyd over and start CPR, and he ignored her.
That was her testimony.
Not good if true.

Not good if true.

That's a risky move. If they want to prove he was an OD, then why the continuous restraint, whether they called paramedics or not? I don't know about that one. I could see this playing badly in the heads of the jurors.

The riots after the trial will probably make last year look like the minor leagues.
Let them riot. Eventually, there will be a Napoleon-type leader who will end this modern reign of terror.

She was not a paramedic. She was not on the clock. She was not working. She was a bystander with a phone and was a firefighter who had EMS training. She was yelling at the cops to check for a pulse. But no, she was not on the clock or in uniform.
She even got checked by the judge for arguing. click the link LINK

Don't need her testimony if the body cams were rolling (and they were).

He forgot to add that she was not in uniform nor had any identification proving she was a EMT.

If a physically imposing perpetrator, who was already acting erratically , said "I ate too many drugs" why would any police officer be inclined to reduce any amount of force he deemed necessary to keep the perpetrator from hurting himself, or others, until paramedics arrived to sedate said perp?

That changes a lot.

There was no way of knowing he was overdosing. The only thing the defense can do is prove that he didn't die under the restraint of Chauvin and that he could have died by an overdose. Remember, hes innocent until proven guilty. So far there is no proof without a reasonable doubt that GF died due to being restrained with pressure to the neck.

Well, that's a very different thing. I know I shouldn't be , but I'm continuously surprised when people post objectively false information in an attempt to convince people to agree with their desired conclusion.

Misinformation is the reason we are where we are in 2021.

Monday Morning Quarterbacking Bull Shite.
Chauvin had no reasonable expectation of recognizing that Floyd had heart problems and had overdosed, which he did.
Police officers aren't doctors. If you want to prosecute Chauvin for not being a doctor, then you've got a huge mountain ahead of you.

Was this the off duty para that could have also been a shopper from Sachs?

Was Chauvin confronted with an agitated crowd threatening him when he monitored the subject's condition?

However most of them have come into contact with OD incidents. In fact, many if not most of them are trained in identifying OD situations, thus the narcan shots they carry.

He wasn't necessarily coming off as physically imposing initially. He was somewhat calm (although visibly high) before they attempted to put him in the police car. Once his excited delerium took in he started panicking about being put in the car then began to have a mental episode that lead into him (although not causing) to overdose. He was resisting arrest on the ground and Chauvin was doing as he was trained while EMS was on the way. Once they arrived, he was relived of restraining him.

It’s a bad look, but did he kill GF?
Not seeing that.
