Had Covid and pneumonia simultaneously in January, 40 years old, 6’1” fluctuate between 185-88, 4 years military, 3 years D1 athlete (wrestling).
I still struggle with my “wind.” I still can’t run for more than 32-36 straight at a sub 8’ pace. In January 2020, I ran a marathon in 3:25. Strength came back slowly at first but now at similar numbers as before.
I’m being treated as basically an asthmatic by my primary care physician with mixed results. It is what it is, open everything.

Have you had an ECG or Echo to rule out heart issues like myocarditis?

Sounds more like cancer

MY buddy who is in killer shape and weight trains every single day got it and it really fricked him up. 4 months later and he is still having breathing issues. He can't run and exercise as fully as he could pre-covid, and sometimes he struggles with sleep. Pretty sad to see. Covid fricks with some people pretty badly. I luckily was asymptomatic when I got it and haven't had any issues.
Yep. It is a weird virus. On one hand you have your friend, on the other you have my 75 year old aunt who said, "Ohhhh, it wasn't too bad. The worst part was not being able to go anywhere."

A coworker of mine died a few weeks ago of exactly this. It destroyed her heart. She was two years younger than me.

There’s a soccer player called Jean Kevin Augustin from france who has had problems all season

That is why I queried the poster asking if he had a heart consult. My wife has replaced valves in two patients post COVID one had previous HVD but one was a previous competitive swimmer who still stayed really fit into his early 30s.
While (extremely) rare serious heart issues are presenting post-COVID even in younger fit people.

I’ve seen a few studies lately that show it’s relatively common to have long term symptoms, up to 1/3 of people that have had Covid. And 15-20% of people under 40 had some type of symptoms that lasted longer than a month, whether that is loss of smell, chronic fatigue, or something worse.
This was me, I’m in my late 20s and dealt with shortness of breath, a persistent cough and fatigue for probably about a month and a half afterwards. My mom is still dealing with daily covid headaches two months after she had it. My dad never came down with the virus despite them doing everything together. It’s a weird arse virus for sure, almost like it was made in a lab somewhere...

So 6'4" 240lbs is mordbidly obese now?
Even by the BMI calculator, that isn't obese.
On the borderline of being obese, very much overweight. Apologies.

Because Americans are so fat that the ones that are on the line between overweight and obese aren't even considered overweight. Ideal weight for someone that is 6'4" is roughly 180 - 200.

Had covid end of January. Pre-covid I would ride a recumbent exercise an hour a day(12 miles) and did weight training(benched about 180). Now over 2 months later I can barely do 10 minutes on the exercise bike and can only bench 60 pounds.

6'4 about 175. You people are disillusioned.
He's officially 6'3.5" and 183lbs, but nice of you to try to exaggerate it a tad to fit you narrative.
There are currently two players at 6'4" in the NBA that are under 180, and both are 175 and both are rookies, 19 year old RJ Hampton and 20 year old Theo Maledon. There's only 4 players in the 180's, and the other 40 players at 6'4" are all over 190lbs.
And these are professional athletes. They are likely to all put 10lbs on after their career is over.
Joe Blow working in an office and sitting on his coach at 6'4" weighing 170lbs is too skinny.

Whatever you say fatass. You're part of the priblem thay america is fat and unhealthy.
Im taking a guess here, but I'd bet less than .05% of Americans are actually too skinny while roughly 70% are too fat, so whatever you say pal

My daughter has smell issues 3 months later. It has been a struggle for her to eat any type of cooked protein.

That's from Pneumonia...not Covid. Pnuemonia scars your lungs.

BIL is still having waves of symptoms 4 months later.

I have a friend who caught it two months ago and says he still hasn't got his wind back to the way it was pre-Covid. He describes while working out he's 170 lbs but feel like he has the wind of a 300 lb man.
Partially why I'm going to get the vaccine. I'm not scared of dying. But I know enough people who struggled with Covid that I now have no desire to get it. I'm not a fan of getting sick, at all.
