$30 for a well done ribeye. I'd be pissed if I had to pay for that as well.

It’ crazier than that. It looks like it’s a well done blackened ribeye.

I'm about solutions - make a reservation for 25 people? We're going to need a $2500 deposit. We'll bill you for the difference (on the same card) if it is over or we'll refund the balance if it is under.

How would you like to pay your deposit?

This really is a shame for the restaurant. I have eaten there. Nice place, nice staff and management. Near the airport but surrounded by the ghetto. The regular clientele is not this ghetto trash, just regular people.

Did he take the platter with him?

A cousin of mine used to run Landry’s on Decatur. This shite he used to tell me would piss me off to no end.

The normal routine is to eat about half of it and try to get it for free, I can't tell you how many half drunk appletinis queens would want to send back

We were eating at Chimes East a few years ago and we each took turns placing our order.
Each of us started with a gumbo or soup, and each time we ordered it, the waitress asked if we’ve had their gumbo/soup before.
At the end of ordering, one of us asked why she asked us that and she said, “We had such a bad problem with people sending back their half eaten gumbo claiming they don’t like it that we were eating a ton of our gumbo sales. So now if they haven’t had it, we bring a sample. If they have, we refuse to comp because the gumbo is made the same way each time.”

So now we laugh about the Chimes East “samplers”.

Another classic was wanted to substitute a premium side for French fries on the lunch menu. Lol what you mean I can't have gumbo or jambalaya instead of a handful of French fries!!!

Large tables are notorious for not leaving tips

Funny enough, I actually loved when large groups all paid separately. (We didn’t auto grat)

You get the shitty tippers canceled out by the great ones in the party. There’s usually at least one or two great tippers. A few mediocre. And a few awful ones.

I hated when you had a huge group of people and the 85 year old grandma wants to take the bill and leaves you $5 to “get yourself something nice” It’s way too risky when one person pays.

I’m heading to Fredericksburg in a couple weeks and paid $100 to reserve a table for 5 people. They will refund it when we arrive on time.

All the nice restaurants do that there. I assume because groups of women go to wineries all day and are too drunk to make their reservation and it screws the restaurants.

That’s not uncommon at all. Some nola restaurants do that as well as restaurants all across the globe.

I used to dine regularly at a restaurant in my neighborhood at the bar alone. I became friends with the owner and staff. I usually had a two cocktails and an entree. After a year, the owner just comped my meals bc he knew I took care of the staff.

One night his dish washer didn’t show up bc of an arrest. They asked me if I’d help. Said frick it, I have no plans. That shite sucked, but they were happy to have the help.

Yep. People are so disconnected from reality. Fries are the standard side because they’re cheap as hell to make. Subbing them out for a premium side like freakin seafood gumbo is expensive.

I liked when people would order gumbo and ask for no onion or something. Hello, have you ever seen someone make gumbo? It’s an hour+ long process. We aren’t making gumbo to order.

Or people coming in on their 30 minute lunch break while we are 100% full and ordering a grilled chicken item (which starts as a completely raw chicken breast) and complaining they have to get back to work. I was always very blunt and transparent in these situations. “Well all of our grilled chicken items start from the raw breast like you would at home, and a whole chicken breast on a grill takes a long time.”

Like damn have you people never cooked before?

Yeah, Peche used to do it. I wasn’t implying it was unheard of.
