He signed off on a massively stupid contract for DC who had no significant market demand allowing him to leverage such a salary.
That aside, what do you think he should have done that he didn't do?
He became LSU's AD in the spring of 2019. That fall the football team won the national championship. Did you want him to fire the HC after that?
He became AD in large part because Alleva suspended the basketball coach who just won the SEC with schools best season since 1980. Should he have fired Wade?
He inherited a baseball coach with several years remaining on a big contract that had just taken the team to the CWS finals 1.5 seasons earlier. The next baseball season was cancelled. Was he supposed to fire PM despite the fact there was essentially no 2020 season?
In 2020 the athletic dept was hit with an unexpected and catastrophic loss of revenue. What are you suggesting he should do that he hasn't done?

Definitely deserves some heat for the Pelini contract and possibly O’s contract as well. Dude loves to throw money around. However due to COVID he hasn’t had to do much yet, time will tell. He definitely doesn’t seem to be the savior many thought when he was hired

He does deserve some of the blame for the Pelinni contract, not the Pelinni hire though. I wouldn't expect him to micromanage a NC winning head coach. He tells him he has X amount of money he can spend, and to get the guy he wants. Woodward had to sign off on the shitty deal, so he's not free from all blame, but the majority of that fault lies on the head coach.

Do we know that it wasn't written into O's contract that he didn't get certain bumps to the contract for winning the NC? This could have already been predetermined, and not a deal he had a lot to do with. I'm not saying this is absolute fact, and in the long run it may not turn out to be a bad deal at all if the ship gets righted.
