So I am talking with my friend and I am very concerned about the requirement to be vaccinated with records in order to do anything like travel or attend events

What are the legal ramifications

The WHO is already working on a vaccine passport. You won't be able to travel without it. Possible options around it would be religious/medical exemption, forgery or identify as a vaccinated individual.

I wish I was good enough to make a forgery ... someone will make a fortune.

Dumbest idea ever. Which is why it's likely to happen.

Once everyone has the opportunity to get the vaccine, we should reopen the world with no ifs, ands, or buts.

Why don't you just get the shot and quit being a fricking weirdo?

Covid vaccine records are likely going to be added to Timatic, making forgeries impossible. Airport agents will check your passport number for vaccine records, as already happens when traveling to/from certain countries. This will just be an additional requirement to travel. For immigrant visas, the U.S. currently requires:
Hepatitis A
Hepatitis B
Influenza
Influenza type b (Hib)
Measles
Meningococcal
Mumps
Pneumococcal
Pertussis
Polio
Rotavirus
Rubella
Tetanus and diphtheria toxoids
Varicella

Just like Voter ID, They can not be required because "poor and underprivileged people can't afford to get them" even though they are free.

Now none of that applies if you come across the Rio Grande, and a positive virus test gets you a free bus ride to a major American city.

Coumo sends virus positive people into nursing homes. Biden says, "hold my beer," and sends them throughout the nation.

Did you apply for a visa to the US or renew an American passport? You don’t have to be vaccinated to have a passport in your home country, just to receive a visa to travel to certain countries.

Unless you just sneak into the country, then they don't care.

I have applied for a passport and have renewed that passport and have traveled the world and not once have any of the above been asked or required

Interesting. Have you traveled to a country which requires a visa? Almost all of Africa and much of South America requires a yellow fever vaccination for visitors and most countries require vaccinations for anyone staying longer than a tourist (>30 days usually). Every country I’ve lived in requires vaccinations for visas. I worked for both United and American as a ticket agent and security coordinator and checked a LOT of vaccination yellow cards. Here’s a good Wikipedia article summarizing current policies: LINK

And the list of required vaccines for US immigrants I posted above: LINK

second shot took about a day of rest. Not as bad as it's made out to be. Arm was a little sore and a little more tired for just one day. I wouldn't worry about it if I were you, unless you have some big event planned for later that or the next day where you need to be 100%. Well worth it just for the peace of mind and possible travel or legal requirements just to get it out the way when you get the chance.

Two things... 1. I’m not planning on living any of those places. The damn vaccine is required to attend a basketball game now or even the draft and will be for travel. Why?

2. I don’t want it. More people have died from the flu. Also, you are requiring a shot of something that may only be 50% effective and required at least yearly. Yeah no thanks

Thank you, Loumiz!

I’ve worked in 41 countries, many across Africa, most got there via AA or a partner airline- so if you worked in MSY, it’s likely we have crossed paths.

Yep- for everyone thinking this is some kind of new thing- it’s not.

Had to show my yellow book all over the world and it never bothered my one bit.
