I think the opening sequence with Sam being a solo bad arse was a nice way to get the fans invested.

I agree with this. I really like seeing how good he is at what he does without Steve in front of him, he can stand on his own. I like the fact that he repairs his own gear too.

Exactly. I'm just laughing at folks saying Sam couldnt be Cap cause of no Serum.

Dude took out a squadron of helicopters, killed a platoon of terrorists while jumping from chopper to chopper, fought a low level super-villain in Batroc, and saved the hostage...by himself.

Of course Steve is a better martial artist and stronger but Sam is not a slouch.

They did a really good job of showing his ability. Not only did he save the day, but did so despite losing physically to Batroc. Him losing that one fits because even Cap sort of broke a sweat fighting Batroc.

Also, they’re doing great character work with Bucky, who is the more interesting of the two. His amends list is a good way for us to believe his eventual journey to hero.

To be fair, take Sam out of the suit, and he’s just another soldier. He’s not the inventor of the Falcon suit like Tony is with the Iron Man tech. Take Cap out of the bad arse uniform and get rid of the Shield and he’s still a superhuman.

Outside of Rhodes, Falcon is the least powerful Avenger when you take away their gear. Natasha has more training than him so they are probably 50/50.

He's kind of like the Jack Kirby Falcon. Kirby wrote and drew Sam Wilson/Falcon as much more of an equal partner with Cap on their adventures.

uh, so if Red Skull manages to bust in on Cap or Sam taking a shower, who is more likely to walk out of that situation alive? The serum is an independent asset. The suit, not so much

Fun scene and well shot

I cringed at the "ground support dude in a humvee" following all of th action. Bish please... those mofos traveled 72 miles through canyons and your arse was sitting on terra firma pretending to watch all of the action with a $5 set of binoculars?
