Bledsoe, NAW, CLE 2022 2nd, and Nuggets 2021 1st to Magic

Gary Harris to Pels

Gordon & Pels 2024 2nd to Nuggets

Would have to take NAW and the 2nds out of the deal before I would consider.

Why are people so obsessed with attaching assets to dump Bledsoe? Do people really think we are 18 million in cap space away from competing for championships?

What asset did I really dump? 2 seconds? NAW?

NAW maybe is a fringe asset but the 2 seconds are meh and would be traded anyway...Harris doesn't need to play as much as is arguably a better defender right now. Key is to open minutes for Kira.

A high 2nd like Cleveland’s still has decent value for people looking for non-guaranteed players.

That pick is currently about 35-36 under today’s standings behind Detroit, Orlando, Minny, and Houston while tied with Washington.

And we happen to own Washington’s 2nd too, BTW, so that’s some decent trade bait or cheap bench guys.

At this point the only trade I see is making is JJ for an expiring contract and a future 2nd

Per Amick, Aaron Gordon has officially requested a trade

Also saw that the Hawks are possibly going to move Bogdanovic and that the Celtics have discussed moving Marcus Smart

Could I interest any of these teams in one Eric Bledsoe?

We should ask the Bucks to throw in a sweetener for any Bledsoe trade, as they sold us a damn lemon.

Keith Smith on Orlando:

quote:

Best I can put together from talking to folks around the NBA on Magic asking prices for players:

Vucevic - Multiple 1sts and young players

Gordon - Two 1sts and a young player

Ross - a 1st and a young player

Fournier - A young player and/or a 1st

Key is ORL wants good 1sts.

Agree. Gordon not worth anything close to that. Appears Magic not really willing to deal. If they were able to get that for Gordon, we should be able to get that easily for Ball.

If true, is this the kind of player that you would take a chance on for a protected 1st?

Orlando is stuck in NBA purgatory and they apparently aren't willing to take a step back to get better. That usually doesn't end well.

Why are you trading NAW(and two 1sts) to get back a guy who is worse than Bledsoe and higher paid than Bledsoe?

They really just need to go firesale mode and dump everything they can for as much as they can.

In theory, yes.

But on this team that has Steven Adams/Zion/Jaxson at PF/C, I don't really see how Bagley gets minutes.

Would have to be part of a longer-term plan (such as unloading Adams next year or including Hayes or Bagley in a bigger deal for the 3rd star).

It's sounding like Griffin has a good amount of suitors for Ball. If they want to trade Ball, I have no doubt Griffin will get what he wants. At the end of the day, it's going to be whether Griffin thinks Ball is a long term piece here.

Well, if he's better than Adams and Jaxson, he gets minutes. Simple as that.
We can't make decisions on passing up on players b/c we have Steven Adams. If you can find someone better than him, you go get him, even if you can't unload Adams, which i'm sure you could if you really wanted to. Just about any contender would want Adams, especially this offseason. Same logic applies to going after John Collins.
