My 14 year old wears hoodies in the summer. It's definitely a kid/teen thing now.

The difference between these is negligible. Branding is branding. You wearing a NOFX shirt would only be slightly different. You'd still be advertising a product you like(d), even if that product is not universally recognized.

We had hand me down falstaff t shirts and fairgrounds race track tee shirts

And high school tee shirts.

But that’s about it. My mom didn’t like the whole free advertisement thing.

yeah 90's kids just wore clothes that said "Reebok" "Nike" and "Adidas". There is literally no difference.

Probably for ironic reasons, similar to the recent fad of black kids wearing metal band t-shirts.
